"I can't believe I'm in the wrong body — again!" Apparently, this freaky phenomenon of stepping into someone's life — and their body — has a name: Temp Lifer.

And when my dead grandmother heaped on the praise for a job well done last time, I sort of let it happen again. (Grrr... thanks, Grammy.)

So now I'm hungover and gazing in the mirror at... my boyfriend's older sister, who is getting ready to go wild on spring break — while being pursued by a psycho stalker and a Dark Lifer. Help!

I started writing at 8 years old and when I speak to kids at schools or libraries I show them the stories I wrote as a child. I loved mystery series like Judy Bolton and Nancy Drew, and my DREAM was to write a series of my own. This happened when My Sister the Ghost was published by Avon books in 1994.

Since then I’ve been fortunate to write other series like The Seer, Dead Girl trilogy, Strange Encounters, Regeneration and Curious Cat Spy Club. I recently added a mini mystery to the Curious Cat Spy Club series titled Dog Rescue Time Warp which has a surprise ending.

I love hearing from fans and always write back. And I’ll send a spy activity packet to anyone that asks. Email link at www.LindaJoySingleton.com

3.5 ⭐️

This is the second book in the Dead Girls series. I highly recommend it! In this book Amber, who is directionally challenged just a tad, ends up in the body of her boyfriend's troubled sister and on her way to spring break. Sure, it's cool to be an older college-age girl but how do you squash those feelings for your boyfriend that definitely isn't sisterly love? And then there's the problem that there is a Dead Lifer looking to drain your life energy. Amber has to keep Sharayah's body safe while she figures out just what her mission is this time. This is a truly fun series that is very well-written! Check it out!

Since Amber has lived in another body previously, Dead Girl Dancing is missing some of the 'OMG Freaky Friday type moments' which made the last book so delightful. However, it is still enjoyable.

Amber is now the temp lifter of the hungover body of her boyfriend Eli's sister, Sharayah. Sharayah is a college student and it is Spring break leaving Amber to encounter more 'mature' situations than the previous book. Amber is experiencing an interesting first look at life after high school.

As Sharayah, Amber's network of friends who are aware of what she is going through is much smaller, almost nonexistent. The situations she encounters are much more dangerous and she must face these perils on her own. The dark lifters, who were my least favorite component of the Dead Girl Walking, play a larger role in this story. It also seemed as though Amber channeled more memories of her new host body than she did while she was in Leah, which didn't keep in sync so well with the previous story. This was still a fun read as long as I didn't over think it too much.

Once again it ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger... But this time I am prepared. I already have the next book.

Teenager Amber Borden, who has the ability to step into someone else's body--and life--returns in this second Dead Girl novel. This time, she steps into the body of her boyfriend's college-age sister, who has an obvious drinking problem and a psycho stalker.
I read the first book in a free Amazon download, and got into the thought that when life becomes too much for a person, a Temp Lifer takes over their life until they are ready to face it again. Amber is willing but inexperienced, but does her best to make her charges have good outcomes while she has possession of their bodies.
I think this is a teen book, but I have enjoyed 2 of them and I know there is at least one more.

Amber masih keras kepala aja, jadi malesin.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

i actually enjoyed this seconds book better than the first one don’t know why. probably because amber was more capable and know what thing she’s supposed and have to do. even though she’s still clumsy and easily panic. el o el. it was fun.

Ceritanya Sharayah lagi patah hati, kayak galau gitu deh bahasa sekarang ya.

When we last left Amber Borden, she was dead. Sort of. Actually, she was in a pretty horrible accident and when she got to the other side her recently deceased Grammy Greta sent her back. Unfortunately, Amber has a horrible sense of direction and she ended up in the wrong body. While trying to figure out how to switch back into her own body, Amber did such a good job helping her temporary body that her Grammy sent her on another mission. So instead of going home to her family and her new boyfriend ,Eli, Amber has woken up as someone else. Here is where the story picks up in Dead Girl Dancing...

Amber fully expects to open her eyes in the hospital looking into the tear streaked eyes of her loved ones. She should have known better than that. Instead, she awakens in a strange, and very messy, dorm room. When she looks in the mirror she discovers that she is now in the body of the worst person she could possibly be. She said she wanted to help people, but this is ridiculous! Oh, well. She's here now as a Temp Lifer to give this person a break from her troubles, so Amber might as well make the best of it. On the bright side, she's now old enough to go to a bar. On the not-so-bright side, her temporary body seems to be in a lot of trouble.

There are some dark secrets and puzzling mysteries that Amber has to figure out. Not only that, but someone, or something , seems to be stalking her. Amber and her new body are either the target of a psychotic human or a dangerous Dark Lifer. Her self-help books have taught her many things, but there were no chapters in any of them that dealt with "how to evade a psycho-killer" or "how to keep evil wandering spirits from sucking up your life force". Amber is only supposed to be a stand in and stay out of trouble, but the trouble seems to find her at every turn, even the wrong ones. Amber sure has a tough road ahead, especially since her temporary friends decide to take her away for spring break. Well, a little song, a little dance and a really long , dangerous walk in someone else's pants await her. If she survives this, her Grammy would be so dead (if she wasn't already).

Dead Girl Dancing is just as fun and clever as the first book in the series, Dead Girl Walking, but it is also much darker. There is more pulse-pounding suspense and danger. Amber will face the dark side of both life and death and the stakes are much higher in her new challenge. There is still some romance, but the obstacles are quite tricky this time. You will still root for Amber and Eli to make it through these difficult times. Also, the killer cliff hanger ending will not disappoint. This is an excellent series that I highly recommend to all fans of the paranormal.

Nggak seseru buku pertama, tapi bukan berarti nggak seru. Seru sih, tapi nanggung. So, 3 stars is enough!

No favorite character in this second book.

Sayang sekali, bukan? :((

I like this book although I'm a little disappointed about some parts. Lanjut ke buku tiga? Boleh banget! Semangat ngurangin timbunaaan buku! *tiba-tiba dosen berdeham.. "Ehem! Inget kuliah! Inget project! Inget tugas besar!"*

Well, can't wait for the next book! Great book!

Dead Girl Dancing was a very good sequel to Dead Girl Walking. I am glad that the sequel met my expectations.

Amber stayed true to herself in this novel. I liked that she was still her even though she had been through a lot. In this book Amber faced more danger than the previous book and the stakes were much higher. Amber handled everything well and she tried her hardest to help the body (or person) that she was in. I really like strong characters like Amber and that she is a normal, healthy-eating girl. One thing that I did not like was that she was a bit self-absorbed since she didn't ask what was going on her friend's lives.

Dead Girl Dancing was very fast-paced (but not too fast-paced that it gave you whiplash) and it was suspenseful. There were some twists in this sequel, though they were a bit predictable. I did like that the author tried to make it a bit hard to predict by adding in curveballs and whatnot, but I still knew some of the things that were going to happen. The increased danger in this book kept you flipping the pages and it kept you hooked in the series. I cannot wait to see what the author comes up with in the third book, Dead Girl in Love.

Overall: A great sequel with a mad-making cliffhanger (I need Dead Girl in Love now!) Sure there were a few predictable scenes/things but it did not take away from enjoying the story. I definitely recommend this paranormal series!

The second one in this series.
The thing that makes it complicated: si Rayah ini adalah kakak Eli, cowok yang disukai Amber (atau pacarnya ya? but as far as I know, they're not officially dating, yet...).
And yeah, bayangkanlah liburan khas anak kuliahannya Amerika di pantai.
The thing is, kalau ini memang digolongkan sebagai bacaan remaja, saya merasa konsep Penghuni Sementara ini somehow, just...weird (if not to say ridiculous). Beberapa bagian malah agak maksa gimanaaa gitu ya.
I didn't enjoy it as much as the first one.
SO yeah, it's more like 2.5 star, actually.

Today's review is on Dead Girl Dancing by: Linda Joy Singleton

Dead Girl Dancing is the second installment in this series and is much better than the first!

Dancing picks up right where Walking leaves off. Amber is now "living" in the body of Sharayah Rockingham. You read right, "Rayah" is the older sister of Eli, the boy that she "maybe-loves". At least she has the GEM; the guidance manual; to help her this time.

Rayah has changed so much after her relationship with Gabe went south. She basically dumped all of her friends and has become a notorious party girl. Plus, she has been getting threatening notes and texts. Before Eli can come to the aid of his girlfriend/sister though, Rayah's new friends Sadie and Mauve take her to Venice Beach for spring break. Amber realizes that not only does Rayah need some help, but so do her new friends.

As with all good YA books, everything works out in the end. Even Eli has a chance to fulfill his dream of being a singer!!

YEA!! for Singleton's Dead Girl Dancing.

When Amber mentioned that she might be body-swapping again, she had no idea that her grandmother meant straight away.

Now, instead of returning to her own life and her own family, she wakes up in the body of her boyfriend's sister.

She's just received a stalker-like text and now she's being hustled out of her room by her roommate and her friend to get to Mexico for Spring Break.

On the way they meet up with some boys. Amber finds herself out of her league. Sharayah's older and wilder than Amber.

She's just hoping she can keep herself out of danger with a potential stalker and a Dark Lifer after her.

Linda Joy Singleton continues this new series with DEAD GIRL DANCING, where she perfectly combines the hardships of teen life with a paranormal aspect, immediately hooking readers. Each book grows a little darker and a little more suspenseful. I love her novels!

this is a very good book as well. not as good as the first, but good enough to get me to read the third. its about amber leaving her body for a second time, but this time she ends up in her boy-friends sisters body. awkward. her boy-friends sister is a collage student, making it really hard to believe shes now legal to do. her and her crazy friends go on a spring break vacation to the beach but the hotel wasn't what was expected. through the wild and daring experience. because her soul didn't come from the body she is in, she attracts people called dark lifers. dark lifers are dead people who live in other peoples bodies but they feed off of people like amber. amber ends up getting stuck in the hands of the most powerful dark lifer alive. what will she do?

This book was just as good as the first one - if not better!
I seem to be having a lot of luck when reading books so far this year, every one of them I've loved.

Anyways, about this book. The first book ends off leading us to believe that Amber was finally going to be returned to her own body...but that is not so. Instead of returning to her own body, she awakes in another girl's body with no idea where she is whatsoever. She has to quickly learn what's going on and make sure she doesn't get killed in the process.

It was a really good, fast read and I'm really excited to read the next one in the series.

Not as good as the first one. In book one we have Amber stumbling through Leah's life trying to get back to her own body cause she accidently ended up in Leah's and that works. What doesn't work is her dead grandmother choosing to put teenage Amber into her boyfriends college age partying sister - without any information or training. That makes NO SENSE. Isn't her grandmother supposed to love Amber? Why would she do this? Plus Amber was kind of annoying with her belief that she knew what was needed to fix the sister's life (naturally she was wrong). I like ELi and how supportive he is but he is too good to be true.

Part two in the dead girl trilogy is even more of an adventure for Amber when she finds herself switched into the bod of her boyfriends sister. Sharaya is a pre-med student who has gotten hooked up with a very nasty boyfriend and needs a spritual vacation, so Amber steps into her life, literally, to allow her to take it.
Dealing with a Dark Lifer, a stalker, and two other crazy girls is not exactly what Amber had in mind when she agreed to help Grammy with this assignment. Needless to say it is a puzzle until the last page. Even that is a double duty cliff hanger.

I'm on page 66 and am enjoying the book so far.
It's a quick and fun read and the book is interesting so far.

Linda Joy Singleton delivers yet again. :-)
It's interesting how she can write about a serious topic without it being depressing.

I finished the book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series-Dead Girl in Love. The book was good. So far Linda Joy Singleton doesn't disappoint. :-)

Dead Girl Dancing, is a great follow up from Book One. I experienced drama, suspense and pure excitement when I was reading it. I was intrigued with the main character Amber because her strength has grown and it's nice to see how she accepted her role as a Temp Lifer, even though she misses her real life. I cannot wait to read Dead Girl In Love, Book 3 of the series, because Linda definitely ended this book with a cliffhanger and I'm dieing to know what happens next! Ah!

When middle-schooler Amber finds herself transported into the body of a college girl bent on self-destruction, she has a lot to learn-- and fast! How does she balance not giving away her new identity with helping this girl get her life back on track?

This series isn't the best thing I've read, but it's keeping me surprisingly captivated. The books start slow, and sometimes seem aimed at a younger audience than I'd expect, but they ring true somehow as well, despite the supernatural setting.

This is a very interesting book with a cool theory. It involves a girl who works as something called a temp lifer, which means that you switch into different peoples bodies and you live their life for them while they are going through any major issues. It is part of a really good series, and is very hard to put down!

Ia terpilih menjadi Penghuni Sementara.

Seru!
