Dr Nicholas Perricone's Programme : Grow Young, Get Slim, in Days
The No 1 New York Times Bestseller is a revolutionary diet plan that keeps wrinkles at bay, helps you lose weight and have gorgeous skin. Now you can use the power of food to follow the diet many celebrities have been mad about, reportedly including J-Lo, Julia Roberts and Heidi Klum. The book shows you how to counteract wrinkles and other signs of premature ageing by directly reducing skin level inflammation with a special diet high in omega oils (the famous salmon part of the diet) and other nutritional wonder-foods including tuna, turkey, olive oil, nuts, fresh fruit, herbs and veggies. And you lose unwanted kilos as well. This practical and informative book includes a 7-step, 28-day plan that kicks off with the remarkably effective Three-Day Nutritional Facelift. It provides a detailed daily prescription of what to eat and drink, with an exercise for the day.

This book is really informative for those wanting to understand the aging process and be proactive in anti aging! I wish I read this in my early 20s but luckily I read it at 30. Such great information on vitamins too! Some good recipes as well! I made the oat grout risotto and it was delicious! Highly recommend!!

Perricon has a good program. He is all about whole foods, is a little misinformed on saturated fat, but does recommend grass-fed meats and coconut oil (cuddos!). He has some products that "he designed", but all the food items are available elsewhere. I picked up this book because it contains a section on T-Tapp, another book I just finished reading and liked. Overall, I think Perricon has a nice comprehensive program that will result in lower inflammation, which does mean health and better skin, etc. I was inspired to re-commit my self work more on my stress management and take some chlorella supplements.

July 24, 2011Dr. Perricone has written an extremely informative, interesting, and easy-to-read book that explains ways to live a longer, healthier life from a medical, scientific point of view. Perricone was one of the first doctors to name inflammation as one of the major causes of aging. Now, his hypothesis is a widely accepted theory in the medical field. I am planning on reading more of his books and would not only recommend, but in fact encourage others to read them.

I had split feelings on this - I can see how some of it could be true and I've read similar things elsewhere. But then part of me things this guy is a quack.
