Collects the content of a mockumentary co-written by the brilliant comic actor Martin Mull, "The History of White People in America." It explores the fictional white suburban town of Hawkins Fall, which Mull said was based on his hometown, North Ridgeville, Ohio. In the style of documentaries about people of color, "The History" featured the contributions white people have made to the U.S., visited the Institute of White Studies, and followed a typical white family as they went about their everyday lives.
I thought that this was a very funny book. This book is good for most students that have to read comedies in their english classes because of the little stories that are in the book you get a good laugh out of most of them. Also this is good for students like myself that don't really care to read that much, this book has the little stories that dont take as long as one whole book would.
A number of short stories told in Martin Mull's brand of humor. A quick read for late evening when I was trying to get sleepy enough to go to bed. One of those books that makes you go "Huh???", although there are some great characterizations involved.
Very tongue-in-cheek description of the "culture" of middle class, midwestern white people who think of refrigerator magnets as an art form. Sounded like a day in Logansport, Indiana.
