The Wisden Book of Test Cricket, first published in 1979, is well established as an invaluable and unique source of reference essential to any cricket library. This new volume includes full scorecards and match reports from 1877 to 1977. Originally edited by Bill Frindall, this new volume brings collectors' libraries up to date, ensuring they have a complete and accurate record - essential for any truly self-respecting cricket enthusiast.
It was wonderful to revisit all those games I saw in my youth or heard about. The book brought back memories of conversations with my grandfather more than half a century ago. There's a page for each match, with one paragraph about the statistical highlights and interesting incidents, and the complete scorecard. The volume also includes tables of cricketers' career records etc., but no pictures. Inevitably it left me wanting more, so as always, I bought more books.
