This is a great resource, primarily because of the book's setup, for interested readers. I learned a few new things, but was especially discouraged by much of the book's "doom and gloom" tone. Really enjoyed the chapter on fish oil supplementation as well as the firsthand description of a young man's manic cycle. The book really provided a nice spread of various authors from various walks of life and experience with the illness in a concise and somewhat entertaining way. Worth a read if you're i ...more

Stefan Kiesbye has an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan. Born on the German coast of the Baltic Sea, he moved to Berlin in the early 1980s. He studied drama and worked in radio before starting a degree in American studies, English, and comparative literature at Berlin’s Free University.
