The prose is strong, rich images dance in your mind. The story is interesting, but it feels as if we are only given half the journey.
The sights and sounds are accounted for, but the authors experience of the sensations supplants the emotional resonance of events.
All in all, a beautiful, yet strangely unsatisfying read.
