You will know most of the authors who have contributed essays to this book because they have been on Oprah and every other important talk show and featured on many book lists. The author herself was the least known to me and I suspect she will soon join these famous people as a household name.

The essays cover many subjects yet have broad appeal to all. This is one of those books that you can pick up and put down with ease without ever losing your place. They are thoughtful and well written.

I read about 1 story each night before putting the light out. And so I went to sleep with hope and positive feelings and thoughts. I know some of the thinkers in this book too. But so what? I needed something uplifting. And this book did it.. Plus there are suggestions for more reading. Many sound very good. I looked forward to my one bedtime story each night. And yes, I have a Life ;)

Some of the essays offer excellent insights into how people are able to turn lemons into lemonade and deal with the kinds of challenges we all face at some point in our lives. Generally uplifting and well-written.

I read about 60% of the essays in this book....all the ones that looked interesting to me. There were only a few that I would say were amazing and moving. All the rest were just good, so I gave it a 3 overall.

This has some nice "lessons" in it, but it is pretty much New Age. There are some good discussion questions in the back regarding different areas of your life, if you are having issues with them.

The problem with life lessons is that they are personal. So much of this book is anecdotal that it really did not teach me anything. I did like the first story about the mastectomy. So romantic.

There were a few short stories that I enjoyed, but all in all not a real inspirational book.
