Bright, cheery paintings and witty text--printed on sturdy card-stock pages in a small, easy-to-hold size--comple ...more

Trying to find a book that teaches children about goodbyes (but isn't about death!) isn't easy! I was very pleased when I stumbled upon this one by Laura McGee Kvasnosky. As reptilian and amphibian parents drop their little ones off at River Bottom School their goodbyes are lighthearted and fun. Then, at the end of the school day when the little ones head home, they say goodbye to school with the same joviality. This book had my preschool students giggling and completely engaged.

A classic rhyming book on saying good-bye, for children just starting school or day care. 8/28/12

A little old for my Lap Time, but I like the rhymes. 8/28/13

Used as the last book for my Lap Time again. 8/27/14

Used for TECs back to school story time for PreK's. 8/11/15

Recommended to Reptiles Alive performer and then used for the last book for my Baby/Toddler Lap Time

Rhythmic and charming, this cutesy little picture book takes original and clever spins off of the age-old saying "See You Later Alligator." One of Kvasnosky's lighter works, it's sure to not disappoint fans, and it retains her beautiful art style.

Nicely illustrated picture book demonstrating the many variations that go with the phrase, "See ya later, alligator!" Both my preschooler and my early elementary schooler love this book.

This will be a great book for K and up. I am currently reading it to my daughter to help with her rhyming skills.

alligators, neighbors, friends, leaving, moving away (although he only moves to a different house on the same street)
A simple story interspersed with the "See you later, alligator" poem. A good one for children going off to school.
Cute. JT wasn't impressed though.
