Knox is among the finest conservative intellectuals writing today. Few combine so rich a knowledge of classical philosophy, orthodox piety, and yet write so fluently about contemporary goings-on. This collection of essays is a great introduction. Knox's takes on Isaiah Berlin and Lionel Trilling are alone worth the price of admission.
