The Breast Cancer Companion: A Guide For The Newly Diagnosed

Rate this book
Named a 2010 Best Consumer Health by the American Journal of Nursing

The Breast Cancer Companion is a step-by-step guide through treatment for the 2 million women living with breast cancer in the United States. It provides ample space and encouragement to record questions, thoughts and feelings, doctor's appointments, medications, and contact information for the oncology team and others. The book also covers myriad other details that are often lost in the trauma and emotion of diagnosis and illness. The book helps women to be well-organized, well-informed, and have peace of mind so that, even in the midst of their breast cancer treatment they remain focused on what matters most: becoming well and achieving a healthy outcome. Special features include a calendar to help with scheduling, a directory to organize important contacts, questions to ask the medical team, tips and advice from breast cancer survivors, and a list of resources and breast cancer–related organizations.

What a beautiful book! I would classify it more as a journal. It is just great! It has tabs with different sections on finance, tips, schedule, & important contacts. It's something to carry along with you day-to-day while struggling through this disease. I have yet to see something like it. It helps woman keep organized and focused during a terrible time..and who has time to keep organized? Well, the Breast Cancer Companion can help! Highly reccommended!! A great gift for someone going through Breast Cancer. Fight For A Cure!!

I don't know if I'll ever "finish" this book. Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed.
This book is really for people with Stage 1,2,or 3 breast cancer, not much use when you're stage 4.

:(

"That doesn't mean it only deserves 1 star!", you might say. Well I spent $17.00 on it and it's really thin and (for me) really worthless.
