I loved this book! It was the best of about 3 worlds. First there was The History of The Farm Chicks, then there were the recipes and as if that wasn't enough there were crafty projects and repurposing!
I will be slowly making everything in this book...one page at a time!

There are a lot of baked goods in this cookbook, which I think is a good thing. I made two of the treats from the breakfast section: cinnamon rolls and nutmeg coffee cake. The cinnamon rolls were amazing, and the coffee cake was pretty good. Both items required a lot more cooking time than called for; they were still jiggly and gooey at the completion time. The coffee cake while not spectacular was really simple and used a minimal amount of measuring cups/spoons. Also, it was better when cooled so that the bottom crust could get crunchy.

I bought this cookbook because it was cute. Seriously. And there was a pie on the cover... you know how I love pie. However, the recipes turned out to be the most amazing part of the book.. which is definitely a good thing. The Farm Chicks live in Spokane, Washington {a region of the country that I desperately want to visit!} so there is a bit of a healthier vibe to these recipes. Now, I'm not talking kale, nutritional yeast and vegan healhty.. I mean that they love to use real ingredients and a variety of fruits and veggies. They have tons of great desserts but other recipes as well! It also has craft and thrifting ideas in it too, so those are very fun to read in between recipes.

3.5 stars. This is a lovely book with great pictures of Christmas decorating ideas. I would have liked to have seen more craft ideas and recipes.

The stories behind the mompreneurs were more interesting than the recipes. This book dumbs down too many recipes to be either tasty, new or interesting.
