Set at the height of Vietnam protests, Jimi Hendrix and LSD, Wet Goddess is a story of strange encounters, awkward misadventures, and ultimately, love.
You have to have an open mind to understand this, and see it through the eyes of love. (2013)
Now, that I am older, I need to say that it was wrong I cannot think it was alright , I guess I wanted to see a connection on a deeper level... but that doesn't mean the idea to justify a rape, because it was and thats wrong. (2021)
So, my friend Thea's dad wrote this book, and if you read the synopsis, it's pretty spot on about what this book is about. It did have a few surprising twists that were certainly interesting.
Knowing that dolphins are amongst our mammalian species that can be quite extrordinarily amorous and not monogamous, can anyone say, if they had an opportunity to swim with a dolphin, not be tempted? If dolphins were not captured and trained for our amusement, would there ever be any basis for truth or fiction in this story? I found it well worth a read! Humans have married people from other planets and the trend is goin to the Moon. This book is a priceless guide to interspecies love. Brenner deserves a place in science along with Einstein.
An interesting, at times perplexing read - I found it surprisingly well written and captivating as it engulfs you in the summer heat of 70s Florida, a run-down waterpark, the vibrancy and freedom of youth, vividly painting a picture of its various environments, characters, and misfortunes.
The subject matter certainly makes it no ordinary biography, but it’s exactly what I’m after, a modern tale of horror, detailing the sometimes unfathomable, even repulsive nature of aberrations in human desire. This is a shameless tale from the perpetrator’s perspective, who is not only undiscerning but blatantly romanticizing the reflection on his past deeds.
While it is easy to become drawn in by the heartfelt account complete with musings of telepathy and true love, it is important to keep in mind that this is at its core a real story. This is no Lolita, written from a third party's perspective miming the predator, but rather the delusions of a man attempting to convince himself and the reader that he has done no wrong.
I think it's important to point out that on the cover it says "recollections of a dolphin lover/A NOVEL". Even if he did actually have sex with the dolphin this is a highly fictionalized account. He claims psychic communication with her and claims to recall conversations that happened in the 70s.
Much of the book is about his relationship with a girl and his various interactions with people at this Sea World-like place. It eventually gets to his affair with the dolphin and interactions with her.
