Dani - Perspective of a Writer
As always the art was perfect. Kagetora's fight was a little ho-hum because he's just enhance. It was well drawn but not exciting. I did like seeing No.1 and No.6 fight off. That was cool and seeing abilities in action is always great.

I wasn't into the creator and felt that whole aspect of the story was off. It was a good way to get a lead from the academy/orphanage though. We learn more about the Grigori project but nothing of much substance. And at this point, of course, the future is still ch

Listen I wanted to like Psyren, I really did. I was really taken in by its setting made more interesting by the mystery. But I’m starting to think that the shonen market is all about the vending machine effect, where what’s predictable sells. This made me a little sad because the author had a lot to say about books he reads and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that he has the taste to pull off a good story. Yet though either the pressure of his publisher or overabundance of characte ...more
Psyren takes place a carefully constructed world and its overarching plot continually builds chapter by chapter. Don't start here - it really must be read from the beginning.

Kagetora, Haruhiko and Ran head out to investigate the one place with known ties to Miroku Amagi, but stumble on much more than they planned on. While still decent, this volume is a definite step down from the rest of the series up to this point. The side story here lacks the immediacy and intrigue other such diversions have

This book was largely split between two stories, both featuring new characters. One I was sort of interested in and the other, eh, not at all. I mean, I get we're seeing how he's meant to build his team and everything,

The story I liked followed Kagetora as he went to an orphanage with Ran and Haruhiko looking for a particular little kid. Unfortunately, Mikoru's people are there too and things get tense.

Meanwhile, in a story I care nothing about, Mikoru finds another of the test subject

Vers

This volume was okay. It does keep the plot moving but it wasn't exactly a thrill a minute for me. Now that everyone is back in the past where they came from the race is on. If they want to create a better future then they need to change the past first. I like the focus on that aspect of the story and the fact that the future (I'm this manga at least) is so fluid and changeable.

Overall a fairly good volume. Nothing mind blowing but them again this is the home stretch so hopefully that will come

iiiii...don't recall what happened in this volume too clearly. probably because i felt like it would make an appropriate midnight bedtime story

a brief flip through now reminds me it was about the coming together of wise! which is interesting but a bit too fight oriented for me to get into. still, a mediocre volume of psyren is a better volume then most shonen manga i can name. :D 3.5 stars

With only 5 more volumes left to go, it's starting to feel like we're on the home stretch.
