Another winning adventure tale from Brandvold. Great stuff!

When I read a western I am not looking for just an action story. I'm afraid that's all there is to The Romantics. Featuring a hero more bland than mysterious, a villain not so scary and settings that do not necessarily have to be in the frontier West, this book is nothing more than a succession of action set pieces. Good for passing time but not terribly satisfying for a western fan.

Very good book describing the southwest and how people and the Indians can survive in it. Excellent reading if you like westerns and action.
