Sharon Lee has been married to her first husband for more than half her lifetime; she is a friend to cats, a member of the National Carousel Association, and oversees the dubious investment schemes of an improbable number of stuffed animals.

Despite having been born in a year of the dragon, Sharon is an introvert. She lives in Maine because she likes it there. In fact, she likes it so much that she has written five novels set in Maine; contemporary fantasy trilogy Carousel Tides, Carousel Sun, Carousel Seas, and mysteries Barnburner and Gunshy.

With the aforementioned first husband, Steve Miller, Sharon has written twenty novels of science fiction and fantasy — many of them set in the Liaden Universe® — and numerous short stories. She has occasionally been an advertising copywriter, a reporter, photographer, book reviewer, and secretary. She was for three years Executive Director of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Inc., and was subsequently elected vice president and then president of that organization.

3 stars average.

I did like the Val Con and Miri "King of Cats" story in this. The other stories were ok, I guess, if you like to think cats as people.

Cats are relaxing.

These two authors know how to let you see the person in the fur. I savor each story I find from them.

First and foremost, I have to say that I love books that have cats in them (so that my sway my opinion a little to far). This is my first short story collection in the Liaden Universe, and I really enjoyed it. I was thrilled to read the King of Cats with Val Con and Miri, but my absolute favorite was Ginger and the Bully of Lowergate.

This chapbook a series of short stories, ranging from Speculative Fiction to Fantasy to Science Fiction, all having cats involved in the narrative. It've very well written, the stories and characters are engaging, and enjoyable. My favorite is the very real Hexapuma, the cover cat and the reason for being of the book. You'll have to buy the chapbook to read his story.

Most of these stories are located elsewhere, so if you're a fan of Steve Miller and Sharon Lee, perhaps you've read these tails before, but as all cats know, there's never enough tails to go around, so no harm in reading them again. Very lighthearted, and extremely entertaining. If you're a cat friend, you don't want to miss this collection.

Great read!!

For those of us who are allowed to live in a cats home, this is a great book! Since Lily and I live in a single room there's not much room to roam but she gives neighbors what for everyday!

Delightful

Several short, lovely tales, (tails?) About cats collected and a Liadan Cat Story which was very charming, are presented here. Cat lovers will enjoy.

Worth the price of admission

This collection is very entertaining. It was fun reading about the role of cats in Steve and Sharon's lives. The Cat Mayor alone was worth the price.
