Ganta Igarashi, who survived the murder of his entire middle school class, is sentenced to death at Deadman Wonderland, where he tries to learn the truth about his classmates' murders while being forced to duel the other prisoners.
Best volume so far with more interesting supporting characters introduced as the G ward is filled out more. The art is still annoying as I find it confusing and not at all helpful with telling the story. I hope I can acclimatise to it soon. 6 out of 12 Three Star read. 2024 read
Finally a rebel group just what i was looking for, and they look to be pretty strong too. But man this is heartbreaking shiro is the wretched egg. What do we do now !!! Do we love her or hate her! Why do Japanese Writers keep doing this to us? This is Griffith all over again 😢

Some intriguing twists. The unsolved/unanswered/mysterious parts/bits are what keep me coming back for more. How will the "Lullaby of the Woodpecker" play out?
Holy shit man. THIS IS JUST AWESOME. Go read it, like, right now. Everything in this volume is pure bliss. So much happened, the story is moving forward, the characters are developing, the art is amazing. If you like manga, i highly recommend. And if you don't, i still recommend <3
This is the third book in the Deadman Wonderland series. While I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as the first two books, it was still a great read. Each book has gotten a bit more disturbing, more violent, and depraved that the previous one.
Ganta is now living with the other Deadmen in Ward G. He survived his first stint in Carnival Corpse and on return to the Ward meets the cute and petite Minatsuki, who Ganta is instinctively drawn to protect. Unfortunately for Ganta, Minatsuki has some pretty disturbing secrets. After that we learn more about Shiro and Ganta starts to remember things from his past that involve Shiro. Then we meet some new characters that are staging some sort of rebellion within Deadman Wonderland, they appear to be lead by the mysterious Naga. As if all this craziness wasn’t enough we meet a Supermonk named Genkaku who seems to be out to kill Ganta.
The story gets a lot more complex in this book (as you can see from the above). Especially towards the end of the story we meet a lot of new characters and the story takes a lot of new twists.
There is a ton of action in here. A good portion of the book is a Carnival Corpse fight between Ganta and another Deadman. The illustration continues to be incredibly well done with a lot of great detail, it’s also easy to follow.
This book is rated for older teen, which I guess I agree with. It’s very very violent and deals with a lot of disturbing subjects such as torture, incest, murder, and gory dismemberment to name a few. Just make sure you know that going in.
Overall this was another great installment in the Deadman Wonderland series. I am excited to see what happens in the next book.
Minagishi's shy and ditzy acting was really good and she was simply adorable even when she secretly destroyed a part of the ceiling to take out Ganta's leg. Hell, even her fucked up personality has its charm and I would've been completely into that if only she wasn't so scary. I wonder what Yoh really thinks of her as his sister.
....I for one did not see that coming, Shiro is the red man....I thought they were related somehow but not the same person. So that means that Ganta's enemy is also his last freind... sucks to be him! I wonder if she considers him a freind or if she has just been playing with him, or does she have split personalities. So many questions...
That monk is cool, also the leader of Scar chain is cool too, but Its kind've scary having Shiro back...
There's still lots of unanswered questions but most of them were answered in this one. A couple new characters were introduced, making the male-female ratio unbalanced. The new characters are a little hard to differentiate for now. This was the most twisted one yet. On to volume 4 hehe~
There was a little too much fan service in this for me. Aside form that, it was an okay continuation of the story. Gangs continues meeting more prisoners as he tries to figure out where Shiro is and how to get out of the competition.
The volume where I got attached to this manga! That Minetsuki girl -Yoh 's sister is horrific. Oh, great plot twist in only 3rd volume! Wow Shiro, your mystery has been revelead. I felt so bad for poor Yoh. He has no idea what the hell is going on around him. Ganta& Shiro moments are surprisingly sweet. And Ganta&Crow moments are hilarious.
Giving this volume 4 stars, as opposed to 3 that I gave the first two volumes.
I felt that the story progressed a lot in this volume, several heavy plot points have now been revealed and the TWIST, that I guess could've been expected but UGH it was so good.
The detail in these drawings is beautiful, it's hard to concentrate on the dialogue with such intricate illustrations, and that's a good thing!
Overall I'm really impressed with this series so far, and now I've surpassed the point where I'd read up to before so everything is new territory from here on out!
Excited to read some more as the days and weeks go on, in prep for the final volume coming out in a few days.
Not sure why I like this violent series. Prisoners are forced to compete in battles and deadly games for a paying audience, but the viewers don't realize that the resulting deaths are real. Ganta, a high school boy, is wrongly convicted of murdering his entire class. While he seems helpless enough, he has special powers called the Branch of Sin that give him superhuman abilities. All in all, the whole thing is kind of silly, but gosh, it's so much fun. The art is a huge draw, too.
Seriously, that girl is psycho! I knew there would be a twist but I was not expecting that. The fight scenes continue to be awesome, although somewhat confusing. And that last page...I need more info before I can even think about forming an opinion on that mess.
I’m honestly super confused by everything in this, whether it is the plot or just trying to distinguish between the different characters. The initial premise is good, but I keep flipping through the pages without actually getting anything out of it. Also, I hated Minatsuki.
This volume had 2 pretty major plot twists happen that I didn’t exactly see coming! Apparently Yo is Minatsukis brother and he can’t even buy off her sentence to save her so now they are both just kinda stuck and screwed and minatsuki is crazy so it’s not like it’s a good team they both have severe trust issues even with each other which creates this entertaining dynamic between both. Then there was the fact that Shiro is the wretched egg??? Which I need more details about because if that’s the case then Shiro is behind a lot of antics in the book especially the antic of killing an entire class of junior high students and then leaving Ganta to which he was given the death sentence for - all the while Shiro really doesn’t know who she is and Ganta definitely doesn’t as he’s still piecing together memories from his child hood. All in all wild volume and that’s just some of what happened.

Minatuki exemplifies gaslight, gatekeep, girl boss. Also, love a good headbutt, no one expects it. Way to grow a pair Ganta, use some of that anti establishment anger all teens have. Also forgot how early some of the reveals about Shiro are. Really adds a delicious wrinkle to her dynamic with Ganta.
A good prison story. Prison is not so bad really you get a room, food and a TV. In this one, the main guy ends up being interred into the secret G-Ward as a tournament fighter after his scrap in the yard with the Red Man. He obviously didn't get the 'keep your head down' memo.
There was a really twisty reveal in this that I liked!!! But the narration jumps about a lot and is a little cryptic and dramatic, making it hard to suspend disbelief. I've still got 3 volumes on my shelf, so, onward.
