Translucent is a short story loosely connected to the author's Marron House series. One very intense scene reunites former lovers and gives them a second chance at a HEA. Since it takes place at a BDSM club, it could also serve as a prequel for a new series. At least I hope we get more stories like this!.

Emer survived the years separated from Michael. Yet she hungered for something no man had yet to satisfy. That is until Michael came back into her world in disguise. I loved the fact that Michael was not selfish. He put her needs first and always considered her feelings and emotions. When she realized who he was he was surprised. For him there was never any other woman than Emer and vice versa. The BDSM scene was really hot and steamy. Although this was a short story, at the end I felt satisfied. I highly recommend. It is a very quick read.

Emer, an Irish beauty with a passion for pain play is on her own at Translucent. Michael is in costume for Halloween, like everyone else, but he finds his sub with no difficulty. They have a past but it was cut short by lack of communication and fear of what she really wanted. Shae packs a ton of spice, emotions, and souls knowing they are at home. I loved the frank dialogue and descriptions of their play. Hot, hot, hot!!.

Why are the good ones the shortest? I can’t get enough. My curious nature is dying to know what happened in Michael’s past. A must read for all erotic romance readers.

I would recommend Translucent if you’re curious about reading erotic romances. If you’re new to the genre this one is only 30 pages long, straight to the point, well written, consensual, no on page triggers. This does mention past child abuse/trauma at the end, but does not go into detail. I’m guessing physical. For the readers that just want to get to the good part, this one is for you!

Warning: Reading Translucent may make you question your life decisions. May make you wonder where the heck are these clubs at. May make you switch your lifestyle up. May make you think about the one who got away. May make you look for your charger. Read responsibly.

“For a moment, I am dragged back in time…”

This amazing little story is like peeking in a window and being given a glimpse of something extraordinary. Both Michael and Emer are fascinating characters and all this did was whet my appetite. Now I just want more. I want everything else to their story.

Details of Michael’s childhood, more about their relationship and love in college, why the stayed apart so many years, the conversation about Caleb that Michael hints at and most of all, what happens after that night.

It’s incredible how much emotion Shae squeezed into thirty short pages. I’ve seen many who failed to give as much in 300. If her goal was to leave us both supremely satisfied while still starving for more, Shae was extremely successful. I now plan to devour a series I’ve never read as soon as possible. If she can do this much with thirty pages I can only imagine what she will do with several hundred. First on my list is Caleb’s book. I can’t wait.

This short story harks back to a minor character from Contolling Assets. Emer was Caleb’s sub before he met Talia. It was good to get her short story to add to the world and characters of Marron House Romances.

Michael is a friend of Caleb’s and he regretted the loss of Emer years ago, never forgetting her and still loving her. Is this his chance to have her back? Will she remember him?

Very short read, mentions kinks I haven’t heard described before.
