Cattleman's Heart

Rate this book
One look at the shirtless cowboy sauntering toward her, and Rebecca Wallingford knew she was in trouble. Now Jackson Rand was telling her in a husky drawl that sent shivers up her spine that she'd be living with a houseful of men!

Jackson had expected the company to send a man - not this beautiful, big-city female who played poker with the boys and was making herself right at home on his ranch. But it was more than chance that had brought Rebecca out west. Now it would take all the love this cattleman had to give, once he uncovered her shocking family secret.

USA Today bestselling author Lois Faye Dyer always knew she would be a writer someday, though the road to realizing her true calling had a few detours and rest stops along the way. Growing up in such picturesque spots as a working ranch in northeastern Montana, the turn-of-the-century coastal town of Mendocino, California, an 1800s home on the shores of Lake Okoboji in Iowa, and the Spanish-flavored city of San Buenaventura on the Pacific Ocean in Southern California provided Lois with a wealth of inspiration for the fictional tales she would write one day.

A successful career in the legal community was satisfying professionally, but her heart still longed to follow her dream of publication. After several years spent honing her craft, Lois sold her first contemporary romance in 1990 and retired from her day job shortly after to focus on her writing. Today, when not plotting her next bestseller, Lois enjoys walking her dog, seeing to the needs of her demanding cats, and spending time with her wonderful family.

1.5 | Nah, she had a fiancé and he had chauvinistic tendencies. Her mother was a big L too. Oh and did I mention that SHE HAD A FIANCÉ?! Nothing worth being romanticised.

This book was an enjoyable read for what it is, a guilty-pleasure romance novel. See my full review on Valentine's day from the K-State Collegian.

This is the concluding volume of the Bowdrie trilogy. This one deals with the lost sister. Rebecca comes to Colson, MT to oversee the finances for a capital venture of her mother’s investment company. Jackson Rand’s ranch is the venture being investigated. Things heat up between the two and other secrets start coming to light. This tale ties up all the loose ends from the previous books. Nice wrap up.
