This book is very helpful when following the Metabolism Miracle program.
Here is my review of that book:

It really is a miracle for me. After years of battling insulin resistance and PCOS, and eating healthy, exercising, and STILL gaining weight... there is finally an answer for me. I've been doing the Metabolism Miracle program for almost a year now and I feel better than I have in years, look great, I've lost 50 pounds, and my cholesterol and triglycerides are better than they have been in over 15 years. I highly recommend this book for anyone with insulin resistance and/or PCOS (they often go hand in hand, but people can have insulin resistance without having PCOS- men, for example.) If you are overweight and can't lose weight on regular diets, there is a chance you may have insulin resistance or prediabetes. You can read the symptoms listed in the book, have your blood checked and determine if that is you.. and if so, this program can really help. It combines healthy eating tailored to this condition along with exercise and lifestyle changes. The Metabolism Miracle has really helped me, where no other diet/program could have- believe me, I've tried them all, and this is the only one for me. Other diets just don't work for people with insulin resistance. It is a hormonal issue which this book addresses. I truly feel it has saved my life.

I thought this book would be helpful in weight loss. However once I took the testing I scored in both types and it didn’t tell you what to do if u didn’t balance in exactly one type.

So I say this book sucked.

Counting this towards my reading goal because it took long enough to get through it.

This book was not for me although I did read the part about how to get a jump start with your metabolism, whether I agree or disagree...I wasn't too interested in the cookbook section or meals to prepare.

Totally changed my life for the better! I've been following the low carb food plan. It stopped my intestinal upsets and my over 150 blood sugar numbers. It was recommended to my brother-in-law, who is a diabetic, by the dietician at the Veterans Medical Clinic.

Most of these recipes were gross, and I have a pretty high tolerance for nasty food since I have to eat gluten-free! ;)

Good as examples of things you can eat on each phase of the plan. I use it as a springboard to adapting my own recipes and inspiration for thinking up new ones.
