The Great British Bachelor Chase was a enjoyable and entertaining read.
Jolene Jameson is extremely excited to be back in England on an historical movie set as an advisor for everything Jane Austen, little does she know her ex boyfriend is on the set too. Will they succeed at ignoring each other? Or fate brought them in close proximity in order to make peace for their past heartbreak?
I liked JJ she is funny, dynamic and she finds herself in some messy situations. Fraser is a broody, grumpy Scots. They should have spoken to each other years ago to clear things out after their break up, but I adored to read their bickering and their chemistry.
Lila Monroe, as always, sucked me in deep from the first page, with her delightful and effortless writing.
In a whirlwind of events I started on the chase of our Mr. Darcy, throughout England and Scotland,along with the main characters.
It was a fun ride, with a lot of laugh out loud moments and some weird encounters, and the most enchanting landscapes of Sussex and the Highlands.
Read this story if you want to escape the real world for a while.

This is lovely, light, fun filled, second chance rom-com. Perfect for all that ails you. Jolene, AKA, J.J. and Fraser had an epic love affair that ended in heartbreak all round, but are now thrown together on the set of JJ's dream job...and mine! Pride and Prejudice does not, in fact, take centre stage, but love certainly does, along with muddles, mayhem, cross country journeys though wonderfully scenic countryside (in fact to where I spent my own honeymoon in our car, the Tangerine Dream, and our dog!) ending in the glorious Isle of Skye.
The book is fun, funny, well written, and warm-hearted. It has been a pleasure to read, reintroducing some characters from The Hollywood Marriage Bargain, and adding more to the cast list. I am truly looking forward to Reeve's story already! 💖💖💖💖

As a Jane Austen fanatic Jolene Jameson is thrilled to be the Jane Austen consultant on an upcoming movie production, even if it means going back to England. The place where she fell in love, agreed to making a long-distance relationship work, and then got ghosted. Surely the Sussex countryside is far enough away from her ex.
Except Fraser MacKenzie works for the movie studio and has been tasked with bringing the production in under budget. JJ doesn’t appreciate Frazer trying to redline essential Austen period items, but when the leading man suddenly goes AWOL from the set, they become united in getting him back. What follows is a hilarious romp around Europe in pursuit of the actor. Of course, the goal is to get him back and keep the production on schedule and under budget, but fate has something extra in mind for JJ and Fraser.
As expected, this one was great fun as I followed JJ and Frazer on their search for the leading man. In the process, we learn so much about both characters, what happened all those years ago, and how they’ve changed during their years apart. I loved seeing Frazer with his family, how close they all were, and how they welcomed JJ.
Hilarious, fast-paced, and smexy, this one easily kept my attention as I blazed through it in one sitting. Heartwarming and endearing, you won’t want to miss this wonderful, entertaining romcom!

a giant scavenger hunt
JJ is back in England as a movie consultant because of her knowledge of all things Jane Austen. The last time she was there was ten years ago when she was in college and in love with a Scottish art student. But once she went back to the states, instead of continuing long distance, he ghosted her and broke her heart. Fraser gave up art to work in finance when his mother died. His father fell apart and his siblings were kids. Now he’s been assigned to a movie of Pride And Prejudice to bring it in under budget. But he’s distracted when he sees the woman he never stopped loving naked in the bathroom. When JJ is tasked with finding the leading man that has run off to track down the love of his life, he joins her to see if he can win her back. But will she ever be able to trust him?
I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.

A Second Chance Romance That is a little Flat
As a longtime fan of Monroe’s novels, I was excited to dive into The Great British Bachelor Chase, a second-chance romance that promised all the elements I love—passion, unresolved tension, and a hero and heroine with history. The premise is compelling: Fraser broke JJ’s heart 10 years ago without any explanation, leaving her to pick up the pieces and try to forget him. But when Fraser returns, now working as the studio budget guy and JJ as the expert on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, old sparks reignite, and the tension between them is palpable.
The story had all the ingredients for a great romance, and the banter between Fraser and JJ is as sharp and witty as ever. The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable, and their interactions kept me engaged. Monroe excels at writing that kind of push-pull dynamic, and you can feel the emotional weight of the years they’ve spent apart.
However, while the romance is definitely present, the story didn’t quite capture me in the same way Monroe’s other books have. For some reason, I just couldn’t connect with the characters as deeply as I usually do in her novels. Fraser’s sudden disappearance all those years ago left too many unanswered questions (like you couldn’t call at all…even a year or two), and even though those unresolved feelings were meant to fuel the romance, I found myself annoyed emotionally—payoff fell a little flat for me.
That being said, it’s still an enjoyable read. The writing is solid, and there’s enough charm to make it worthwhile for fans of the genre. The banter and the slow burn romance are definitely fun, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing, which kept it from hitting the mark for me like Monroe’s previous books have.

The Great British Bachelor Chase was a fun and charming adventure featuring a wild and wacky road trip where everything that can go wrong does and a second chance at love. When Jolene, or JJ for short, takes a job being the Jane Austen expert on a movie set, the last person she expects to run into is her ex that broke her heart ten years ago. When they find themselves in search of the missing leading man, they find that those long-ago feelings haven’t died, but can they move on from their painful past?
“For me, Fraser changed everything. Our connection made the whole world seem bigger and more alive to me—the colors brighter, the possibilities endless.”
JJ was so full of life and sass and had such a big heart. She was devastated when Fraser ghosted her and when she comes face to face with him, she doesn’t quite know how to act. I loved her spunk and her easy, friendly vibe.
“She’s somehow more herself than she was before, and damn, if it doesn’t slay me all over again.”
Fraser was a bit stuffy at first and was nothing like the man that JJ remembered, but soon she started to see traces of the man she knew. He had experienced a tragedy that had changed the course of his life and he had to become more responsible than his college self. His fear of losing anything more in his life caused him to make choices that hurt both himself and Jolene. I loved how being with Jolene reopened his heart and reawakened the free spirit that was inside.
“You can’t stand in the way of two hearts that are determined to be together. Doesn’t matter how long it takes. I reckon the universe finds a way.”
Full of fun, flirty, banter and an easy chemistry, this story was delightfully adorable. All of the characters are unique and full of life. JJ and Fraser’s second chance journey was full of sparks and I loved watching them rediscover their unique connection. I love this series and I’m excited to see what comes next.

This was a fun, adventure into exes reuniting.
JJ has landed her dream job. Finally putting her college degree and her love of all things Jane Austen to good use as a consultant on a remake of Pride and Prejudice. All is going great until her ex shows up as the financial adviser on set. Oh and the tiny little detail of her drunken advice sending the leading man on his own excursion to find his one true love. Bringing the entire production to a grinding halt.
Fraser is shocked to say the least when he walks in on his Jolene in England, fresh from her shower. Naked. The one and only woman he’s ever loved. And the woman he walked away from ten years ago without so much as a goodbye.
Now she’s the one demanding genuine regency costumes and props. And he’s the one that’s been sent to significantly cut the budget on the film.
Yeah. They butt heads. Often.
But he doesn’t hesitate to follow JJ when she sets out on a cross country expedition to retrieve their Mr. Darcy before everyone loses their jobs.
This story reminded of the movie Leap Year. Where an American woman flies to Ireland. She urgently needs to get from point A to point B before leap day. She hires a local man to drive her, and thus starts the road trip from hell. If it can go wrong, it does go wrong. Just like Fraser and JJ’s road trip. And like the movie, this time alone allows them to talk, to loosen up, even have a bit of fun. To get to know the older versions of themselves. And finally get answers those all important questions. Why?
It was a quick easy read. A fun story that keeps you reading just to find out what’s coming next.
The characters were great. And it was set around one of my favorite Austen novels.
It’s told mostly from JJ’s POV, Fraser has a few chapters thrown in from his.
No cheating. And happy ending.

This book was a sweet lighthearted second chance for a brooding Scotsman (my absolute favorite kind of man) and a sunshiney American who had a relationship in college that ended badly, 10 years ago.
JJ (Jolene) is a bright woman with a PhD and dreams. She is not interested in a relationship with anyone. Once was enough. She lands the opportunity of a lifetime - historical consultant for a big time remake of Pride and Prejudice. Boy, is she surprised when the finance guy turns out to be Fraser but he's not the Fraser she knew and loved and what happened all those years ago? What happened to his dreams? Hopefully, it will all come out during their mad dash across the country to find the missing movie star, Hugo, aka Mr Darcy, who has gone off to find his true love after a tipsy talk with JJ the night before. Can they find him and save the movie?
Lots of secondary characters to help and even sometimes hinder the pair on their path to a happy future. Full of movie stars, crew, friends, and family, too numerous to name but trust me, they are a great cast.
The author has written a wonderful story of lost and found love. That is full of laughs, warmth, and emotion. There is no cheating, no obvious OM/OW drama, and a romantic HEA. Yes! I would recommend this awesome romantic adventure to anyone.

The Great British Bachelor Chase by Lila Monroe was an absolute delight from start to finish. A perfect blend of romance, humor and second-chance magic, this is the kind of story that will leave you with the warm-fuzzies and a smile that's hard to wipe off. Monroe's writing style is engaging, filled with vivid descriptions and clever plot twists within a masterfully crafted a heartstring-pulling narrative.
The witty banter between JJ and Fraser is pure gold, and their chemistry practically leaps off the pages. As they hit the road to track down their wayward movie star, the tension between them sizzles and the sparks fly, leaving readers rooting for them to rekindle their romance. There’s a slow burn build-up to their romance, but the pacing is perfect and the endearing main characters and wonderful side characters kept me hooked from page one.

This is a second chance to finally catch the one that got away. Ten years ago, Frazier and JJ shared a wonderful time together, promising to keep in touch and meet up for their future together. Life, tragedy, family and time has separated them but in a chance meeting they have quite the awkward reunion.
JJ is a wealth of Jane Austen knowledge so when she is hired by a production company to be their go to Jane Austen girl on the set of a movie she is on plane across the pond. But what happens when the long-lost love of JJ's life makes his return as the corporate suit trying to slash their production numbers, the movie's leading man decides to take off after his own star-crossed lover, and the production is over budget and out of options? Cue a mad dash across the UK to bring Mr. Darcy back while not falling back in love with the man who broke her young heart.
JJ and Fraser (love the nod to Outlander with the name, btw!) were sweet young lovers when the stuff of life got in the way. They broke each other's heart but they're getting the do-over so many wish for. JJ is funny and quirky and Fraser was sweet and earnest and hid a wealth of pain. Together they figure out how to grow beyond the young lovers they were into the relationship goals they really are. I love the cast of characters and cant wait for both Reeve and Hazel to fall! Great read!

The Great British Bachelor Chase was a fantastic mix of romance and humour. I enjoy Lila Monroe’s writing style; her characters are always so easy to relate too.
If I am feeling down, then I know when I pick up a book by Lila Monroe that it will leave me with a smile on my face. This is Fraser McKenzie and Jolene Jameson (JJ) ’s story and from the moment I read the blurb I knew it was going to be good.
Ms. Monroe is one of my go to authors for Romcom, her books are always, funny, romantic and with plenty of heat. This is a second chance at love story and one that ticked all the boxes for me. From the moment they re-connect in an entertaining way, I was smiling and I don’t think I stopped whilst reading.
Can they come to terms with the past, forgive and move on? The chemistry is just as intense as it once was and when circumstances have them embarking on a road trip it was entertaining to say the least and it was fun to watch their relationship play out.

England was a place where Jolene never wanted to return however having the opportunity to work on a Jane Austen movie is something she can’t turn down. The last person she expected to see let alone work with would be the same man who left her devastated a decade earlier.
The circumstances that resulted in Fraser distancing himself from Jolene have taken a toll on who he is. Rather than the artist who enjoyed all the little things in life he is now a man who is serious and doesn’t have time for much else besides work. When the lead actor goes AWOL these two estranged lovers will have to work together to find him and might just find something much more special along the way.
This is a second chance at love that is filled with heat, heart and humor. They soon realize that the feelings between them have never diminished as they take us on a fun and flirty journey and realize that there is so much more to life than the way they have been living it.

This is another wonderful rom-com from Lila Monroe. It's funny and swoon-worthy and hot and gives you all the second chance romance feels from a little angst to a hea. JJ and Fraser had crazy intense chemistry you somehow could feel off the page. Wonderful side characters and a slow burn that's worth the wait. Another must read from LM! ~Andrea

Lila Monroe is one of my go-to authors when I want a book that's entertaining, sweet, and full of fun and funny moments. The Great British Bachelor Chase hit those marks and is a great addition to the Hollywood Bachelors series.
Jolene is excited to be the Jane Austen expert on a new movie filming in the UK. However, she's not so excited to find her ex Fraser is working on the production as well. It was obvious from the beginning that they still had lots of chemistry and a connection that never went away. I really enjoyed their adventures as they tracked down the film's lead actor. They had to work through their past to move forward and I thought everything was nicely paced and well done.
I am so enjoying this series and already cannot wait for the next book! This can be read as a standalone, but many of Lila's series are interconnected and I highly recommend her other books as well.

This story was great. I could not put it down and I love all of Lila Monroe's books. They just suck you and make you laugh and cry. I'm so glad JJ got her story I loved her in the first book. JJ gets her dream job working on the set of a new movie. She's going back to the one place that caused her heartache and made her miserable reminding her of the man who destroyed her. But she isn't going to let that stop her because this is a dream and she loves the English countryside. What she never expects is the man she once knew to be there. And well the re-introduction is very funny. Fraser is a jerk, to be honest, and wants to get this job done and back home to his life. When he sees the one woman he never stopped thinking about well, now is the time to prove her wrong. When JJ sends the main actor on an adventure well she and Fraser need to bring him back. Can they though when it's all said and done? This funny crazy story will leave you wanting so much more.

I am a die hard Pride & Prejudice fan, I have the 6 hour long BBC adaption on DVD and have watched numerous times, I love me a bit of Colin Firth :)
Jolene has landed the job of her dreams, working on set at new adaption of Pride & Prejudice. She feels like she is at a great place in her life now and is excited about immersing herself into this exciting project.
Fate has decided to get involved in this project too.
Jolene is using the bathroom when in walks the guy who broke her heart after a summer romance that she thought would be the beginning of her happy ever after.
Fraser is pretty stunned to see Jolene on set, she is even more beautiful now. But, he cannot forget how she left him so broken hearted all those years ago.

Jolene gets hired to be the Austen expert on a Pride and Prejudice remake. It's her dream job but a hot Scot on the set threatens to ruin the experience. It's Fraser who ghosted her ten years ago, after she'd been thinking that he was the love of her life. After a drunken conversation about lost love, Hugo, the heart-throb who is supposed to portray Darcy goes missing, threatening the entire production. Fraser and Jolene go on an epic roadtrip to find him again, and find out things about themselves and their past too. There are some parallels between Hugo's love life and Fraser and Jolene's fears.
I enjoyed this story... what's not to love about a roadtrip with a hot Scot?

Lila Monroe’s latest novella, The Great British Bachelor Chase is absolutely adorable. Ms. Monroe’s latest rom-com is cute-funny, and the main characters are lovable. The story is told primarily from the perspective of Jolene (AKA JJ), but there are a few chapters from Fraser. I really appreciated the added dual narration as it gave much needed insight in the Fraser character.
Like the movie Leap Year, The Great British Bachelor Chase, is a road -trip-enemies -to-lovers romance. The banter and chemistry are great, and the cast of secondary characters are totally fun. This lighthearted, fun read was thoroughly enjoyable!

"I love you Jolene. It'll always be you."
GAH!!
JJ gets the job of a lifetime. Miss "I know everything about Jane Austen", gets a consulting job on a movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and really cannot believe her luck. And, then, bam, the shared bathroom door opens on her right after she gets out of the shower and who should be barging in? None other than the man who ghosted her ten years prior. This cannot be happening!
I loved this book so much! Not only did we get a second chance romance, but, a bonus thrown in as well.
I binged this book. I am glad I bought a 2nd Kindle. Now, I don't have to wait between charges to read...WOOT!
High Five Ms. Monroe to some outstanding writing.

What an adorable, lighthearted, engaging story! It’s quite the second chance romance!
JJ has a fantastic new job as an Austen advisor for a movie being made in England! She’s excited and nervous! Can you blame her?!
Needless to say when she sees her ex again in a rather compromising situation, she is shocked!
The storyline is rather funny and I found myself smiling as I read! The journey she goes on to retrieve an actor is nothing short of entertaining and filled with sizzling tension! Could Fraser be the one that got away? He was different than she remembers from all those years ago!
I really rather enjoyed this book! It was charming, quirky and a great escape from reality!

I always get so excited when I have a new Lila Monroe book to read! And I couldn’t wait for this one! JJ was so much fun in The Hollywood Marriage Bargain, and here you get to see here shine in her element, in England, helping on all things Austen on a movie set. Opportunity of a lifetime & dream job. Everything is perfect, until she runs into the hot Scot who broke her heart 10 years ago. He’s also on set, unavoidable, and bringing all the memories and pain back. But an unexpected road trip and chase after the leading man gives these two time to get back on track, in a round about way. Absolutely loved!! And cannot wait for the next one!!
