About the author

James Montgomery Boice was a Reformed theologian, Bible teacher, and pastor of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia from 1968 until his death in 2000. He was also president and cofounder of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, the parent organization of The Bible Study Hour on which Boice was a speaker for more than thirty years.

This book contains a collection of sermons preached on Easter Sundays by James Montgomery Boice. I add this to his, “The Christ of Christmas” as a great little book and highly recommend it.

A thought provoking book for the Easter season.
I enjoyed reading a chapter or two a day as part of the Resurrection Day “countdown.”
It helped me visualize the events of the first Easter and refocus for the season.

I feel like I got to know a bit better the women who went to the tomb early on that Sunday morning, the disciples on the road to Emmauas, and even Peter, James and John. The book is rich in emotion and devotional fodder, while the primary focus is exploring the apparent discrepancies around the Resurrection story between the Gospels. I'd call this a 'must read'.

this book goes into the last few days leading up to good Friday and Easter Sunday. the book goes thru eyewitnesses testimony of the events and apologetics of that weekends events and the days that followed up to the ascension into heaven by Jesus.
