Addison Fox can’t remember a time when words weren’t a part of her life. In addition to being an avid reader, she loves writing novels about strong-willed and exciting heroes and heroines – individuals who are meant for each other and who deserve their happy ever after. After she makes them work for it, of course!
First published in 2010, Addison has written across romance genres including paranormal, contemporary and romantic suspense. A romantic at heart, she’ll take her heroes any way she can get them – from ancient warriors to computer geeks to sexy cowboys. She’s not picky - but she is deeply grateful her readers are willing to come along for the ride.
First let me get this out of the way. Enyo is crazy! Ok there I said it. Second I love reading about all the gods and goddess. Hades you are just MMMmmmmm... Ok where was I? Oh yeah so this is about Kane and IIsa. This women has 3 names and I am not naming them all, sorry. Let me say that IIsa got a raw deal. I felt bad for her. It felt like all her choices and plans were bad and went south real quick. I loved that she was so innocent of things throughout the book. Those moments made me smile. Kane my darling Scorpio you poor, poor warrior hurting the way you were with the poison. I'll kiss it and make you better. lol
Ok so seriously this was better than the first for me. Less action I think but Kane's anger is what drew me in. We meet a new warrior, well he is not new but new for me. Drake....Mmmm oh I hope that his book is about him and Emmerson. The next book is about my grumpy Quinn and I cant wait to read about him. Gezz that guy is always snarling and yelling at everyone. At ending something happened and poor Quinn ...he felt bad... the way he acted I was so sad for him. Ok so anyway overall this was a really good book for me. I love the idea of Zodiac Warriors made by Themious (?).
Millennia ago, the goddess of justice Themis made a bargain with Zeus, she could create a race of fierce warriors, each imbued with a special power of the zodiac, charged with protecting humanity from the darkest evils. But they had to fight against Zeus daughter Enyo the goddess of war. With each success they gained strength but with each failure against Enyo she would gain strength. Now there are only so many of Themis warriors left that have not died by Enyo's hands, and it's these warriors that the fate of the world no depends on.
Immortal warrior Kane Montague is as lethal as the Scorpion that marks his powerful form. As an assassin for MI-6, he's an ace gun-for-hire. After being double-crossed on a mission by Ilsa, another MI-6 agent Kane knows wants to know why. Ilsa only ever wanted revenge for what she suffered but she never bargained how Kane and his warrior brothers would react.
Warrior Avenged is the second book in the series of the Sons of the Zodiac by Addison Fox, the first book Warrior Ascended showed Kane being double crossed and Warrior Avenged begins shortly after this.
I felt that Warrior Avenged was a little predictable at times, especially in the beginning of the story and the first few chapters. However, the story soon picked up and I started to enjoy it a bit more than I anticipated. I really felt for Ilsa as Warrior Avenged went along. She'd suffered so much and was so much an innocent in this story. Kane on the other hand was a bit of a jerk on and off throughout the book but I liked him with Ilsa.
In Warrior Avenged we're introduced to some new characters, my number one favourite character was Hades, surprisingly enough! It was great to have Hades portrayed as a semi-good guy for a change, ok yes he did what suited him but he was a good guy compared to Zeus and Enyo and a few other gods we see in Warrior Avenged which I really loved! We're also introduced to a gothed up witch, Emerson who I liked straight away. She cut straight to the quick with Drake and the other warriors and I can't wait to see if she gets her own book. Callie, the warriors housekeeper/cook/mother/sister type figure comes out more in this book. I'm still unsure about her though.
The next book in the series Warrior Betrayed features Quinn who's been in both books and so far I haven't been over interested by him but his book will be out in May 2011.
Overall, Warrior Avenged was an interesting book but I felt there was something missing. It is a good book full of action, adventure, intrigue and romance but I really didn't connect with the story.
I must admit I liked this one better than the first, I think because the leading lady was a bit stronger of character in some ways than the first. It was a tad annoying that she kept passing out throughout the book, but there were good reasons for it and she had a strong personality despite the fainting spells.
Simple plot, it follows along the lines of book one. In book one, the Leo Warrior of the North American sect of Zodiac Warriors fell in love and found his eternal mate. In this one, it's Kane Montegue's turn, the Scorpio of this particular pocket of Warriors. Only this time, instead of falling for a mortal woman with immortal powers as in the first installment, this time our Scorpio has to go and fall for an immortal named Ilsa who's working for Hades.
There's good chemistry between the two, and a lot of distrust that's it not really conducive towards a healthy relationship. But of course since they're so hot for each other, they find a way to work past it.
There were two things that could have been done a bit better and brought the story up a bit. The first thing doesn't show up until the very end, but I think it's important. The bad guy of the day is an evil sorcerer who burned Kane several hundred years ago, and who Ilsa stupidly made a deal with to fetch the vial of blood for. Yeah...took him a bit to get past that...
Anyways, so much conflict revolves around this guy, and when he's finally taken care of, 1: it's not the Warriors who take him out and 2: he's taken out so quickly I had to go back and make sure it was reading the pages right. Basically there's this big climatic battle, the focus shifts for a second from the battle to an individual, and when you go back to the battle the sorcerer is dead. Just like that. Literally, you look away for a second and it's like 'what just happened?' Almost like an off-stage death in the theater.
The second thing is while you know that Kane was burned by the sorcerer, we're never really given details. See Kane fell in love with a woman several hundred years ago and was cursed by the sorcerer because of it. The sorcerer just so happened to be the woman's brother.
And that's all we know. We find out how exactly Kane was cursed, but not what lead to it. We know the woman turned on Kane, we know why she turned, but no other details. It just seems a bit incomplete to me.
But other than that, quite enjoyable. This one changed my opinion on the series and I'm looking forward to the rest as they come out.
I was so dissappointed in this book. The hero was Scorpio, my favorite. Scorpios are passionate about life, love, loyalty and sex. They feel deeply about everything. They are one of the two strongest signs of the Zodiac but the only sign that can sting itself to death. I did not feel this passion from Kane. The author told us about it, but I did not feel it. She took the scopion's sting but did not fully impart how a scorpio is his/her worst enemy. Ilsa - also a disspointment. I did feel more from her but not deeply. They talked of passion but it was only words. Once I start a book I usually resent having to put it down and cannot wait to get back to reading it. I had to make myself pick up this book again. I was intriqued by the world the author created, but doubt I will read the others.
A lot more ....violent, painful and more realistic relationship. . .choices and all that. Less history this tome, more bad guy confrontation. Again a a mushy lovey happy ending. Blah.

I’ve definitely been hooked. I normally don’t care for books about the Gods of Olympus, but Addison Fox has put a twist on the whole theme that gives an old story a new look, and she’s drawn me in with hardly any effort at all.
Kane Montague is a Zodiac warrior, Scorpio, for Themis, Goddess of Justice. He and his brothers were created after Themis entered into an agreement with Zeus for them to protect mankind from all evils, and Zeus’ daughter Enyo, Goddess of War, is involved to make sure there is balance and all is well with the world. At least until Enyo decides to throw things off balance.
Both Kane and the reader met Ilsa in the first book in the series, Warrior Ascended. They enjoyed each other for a few days and then Ilsa disappears without a word or a trace. Kane has thought of her nearly constantly for six months and then she suddenly re-appears in his life again. Determined to find out why the woman drugged him and skipped, he doesn’t expect the electricity that still sparks between them. What he doesn’t know is that Ilsa is really Nemesis, Goddess of Divine Retribution.
Ilsa’s job is to take the lives of those Hades sends her for, bring their souls back to him for punishment. She’s been at this for centuries ever since Hades rescued her from a life trapped in a cave where Zeus laid a curse on her when he thought she’d betrayed him, kept him from his destiny. Having no other choice for a life, she took Hades’ offer. On the side, Ilsa’s now involved with a dark wizard, trying to gain retribution against Themis through her warriors because she’s the one who turned Zeus against Ilsa all those years ago.
Neither Kane nor Ilsa know the wizard’s true reason for wanting to get at Kane. Three hundred years ago this same wizard cursed Kane using his scorpion against him. He’s been fighting that poison since and has no idea who the wizard is. Falling in love with Kane has made Ilsa look at her life differently and she tries to rework her deal with this wizard so that Kane will be hurt no further.
Things don’t go as planned, and a couple of twists are thrown in at the end that make for some interesting reading and eyebrow raising once the danger is nearly past.
Kane’s warrior brothers are thick in the plot, and I love the relationship among all of them. They sneer and insult each other as men do, but they also have each other’s backs when the chips are down. Quinn, the leader of the Zodiacs, gets his book next and I’m looking forward to that. I have a feeling he’s going to be getting as good as he’s given to his brothers when he meets his heroine.
Alpha heroes, strong heroines, paranormal plots, gods and goddesses, and terrific storytelling await you. Don’t delay, try these books today!
Warrior Avenged by Addison Fox Paranormal Romance- Sep 7th, 2010 3 1/2 stars
Adrasteia was once a nymph, but after she was killed by Zeus, Hades resurrected her as the goddess Nemesis. Now in the service of Hades, Nemesis is the goddess of divine retribution, killing the wicked and collecting their souls. When she met Kane Montague, (an immortal warrior bound to the service of Thesis) they had a brief affair and Nemesis betrayed Kane. But despite his anger and bitterness, Kane was unable to forget Nemesis. When he meets her again six months after their affair he still burns for her. But can he forgive Nemesis? And what will she do to be together with Kane again?
The first few pages of this story can get quite confusing as the author tantalizes you with bits and pieces of information instead of giving huge chunks. But overall I found this an exciting read. The chemistry between Kane and Nemesis is explosive to say the least. You can feel the attraction between them and their resistance to each other. Kane is a bitter man full of anger, and I can’t help but feel that Nemesis does not deserve his fury. Nemesis made a pact with a sorcerer who mislead her, and you can’t help but feel sorry for her and all the bad choices she made.
I really liked that this story had a lot of passion and intensity. But since this is the 2nd book in the Sons of the Zodiac series I did find it a bit difficult to orient myself and would highly suggest reading her 1st book, Warrior Ascended before this one. This book is heavy on Greek mythology and if you are a fan of it, you should definitely give this book a try.

For ages, the goddess Nemesis has sought divine vengeance against mortal man, as she awaits her chance for retaliation against Mount Olympus. Now, after making a deal with a dark wizard, she has reinvented herself as a female spy with her own sinister agenda...
Immortal warrior Kane Montague is as lethal as a scorpion--like the one that marks his powerful form. As an assassin for MI6, he was an ace gun-for-hire until someone very close burned him. Now on the outs with his former colleagues, Kane knows all too well who's to blame: a sexy secret agent names Ilsa.
When their paths cross again, the passion between Kane and Ilsa is irresistible...and possibly lethal. But they soon realize that Ilsa is simply a pawn in a conspiracy aimed at the heart of the Zodiac Warriors. Can Kane trust her? Or is Ilsa the only one who can save him, body and soul?
**** Second in the Zodiac Warrior series. After a slow start with the first book, I really liked this one. The characters are developing well, each with their own quirks and stories. The Zodiac Warriors behave true to their signs, and if you like Greek Mythology, this is a nice series. New characters are joining the mix. And Kane and Ilsa's story is complicated, but pulls together nicely. I'm looking forward to the next book, I hope its Drake and Emerson.

Review:
When Nemesis finally meets her first target Kane, Scorpio of the Zodiac Warriors, she realizes her plan has backfired. The deal she made with a dark sorcerer three centuries ago to kill Kane by poisoning his soul with the very venom of the Scorpion he is infused with is something she will have to make right.
So, when she is sent to kill him because it was never expected that he would be able to fight off the affects of the poison for as long as he, has she isn’t able to and instead only drugs him and disappears.
I knew that this second book would be much more exciting than the first one. In fact, it kept me on my toes. No dull moments at all. Kane Montaque was one of the warriors that Themis had formed to protect humans from their oppressors. Ilsa was a nymph who nurtured Zeus in Mount Ida by the directness of Rhea to hide him from the wrath of Cronus. When Zeus grew up, he did not appreciate Ilsa's hard work to raise him. In return, he cursed Ilsa. Hades (the ruler of the underworld who feared by everyone but truthfully understood humanity better than Zeus and Poseidon) rescued Ilsa and gave her another chance to live. She became Hade's assassin and named as Nemesis (Goddess of Vengeance and Retribution). Until one day working on an assignment, she met Kane (who was also on assignment for MI6). Then, their romance bloomed even though it start off from the wrong side of the bed. Kane was a womanizer and afraid to commit to a relationship due to a trust issue (traits of a Scorpio). Ilsa, on the other hand, was very secretive and the warriors could hardly trust her. Enyo (the Goddess of War and daughter of Zeus and Hera) was the villain in this series, and she was a spoiled-rotten-b 1/2. She also wanted to rule the Pantheon and over power her dad. Well, Zeus should have noted the saying "what goes around comes around." :)
The 2nd book of the Zodiac series indeed has more depth to the characters. The author brought out a interesting link between Ilsa and Zeus.
However, putting aside the linking of characters, I do get confused from one point or another on the development of the storyline.
Moving on to the introduction of characters, Kane a Scorpio warrior who battles with the poison embedded from his Scorpion. Kane was a honest yet endearing character to read, when he meet Ilsa 6months later, bitterness filled him and the author brings out the character of Scorpios; being nasty and vicious.
Ilsa was a lady with a vengence, initial read was that she is a weak woman who is filled with vengence and bitterness. The author did a good job in bringing out the strong-willed in her which makes it a good match between her and Kane.
I would give it a 4 star instead of a 5 due to the confusions I have sometimes.
This, the 3rd book in the series, was excellent. In the first two books Quinn was not the most loveable because he seemed very controlled and controlling. When he meets Montana Grant, head of an international shipping company, he finds love and the ability to forgive himself for poor decisions. If you enjoy Greek Mythology and have wondered what the gods are doing since they have been forgotten by mortals you will love these books as much as I do. Can’t wait for July 10, 2012 and the next book!
Warior Avenged, Brody and Ava's story was not a bad story; I just thought it was a tad bit boring (e.g. Although I'm an avid reader-who rarely breaks for more than a few hours from reading-I found myself finding excuses to avoid this book)...
I also thought this story was extremely predictable (e.g. I was almost surprised that one of Ava's (living) relatives was not a "bad guy", but lo and behold, that relative WAS on the bad guy's team)...sigh.
The book is less than 300 pages.
Although I wouldn't recommend it, I hope you enjoy it.
I have not read the first book as I won this book from another site. This is the 2nd in the series. Kane is out to figure out why he was poisoned. It is interesting to see him go through this process time and time again. Even though I did not read the first one I was not lost and look forward to reading more.
Yup, yup, ran out to get it and sat down and finished it in three days. Liked this one even better than the first one. Good development and still plausible. Can't wait to get to my own astrological sign - it ought to be quite a challenge to see how that warrior compares to my own overactive imagination. Go Addison!
The second book in the Warrior series. Less squirm-inducing sex scenes in this one (and thank goodness as the author is my COUSIN!!!). Anywho, liked the climax scenes in this one better. More detailed with a slower unraveling of the conclusion in contrast to the first novel. Looking forward to number 3 :)
Loved it! I think I liked it even better than the first, which is saying something! :) Can't wait for the next one, and I REALLY can't wait to see what happens with my own sign's warrior... haven't heard mine even mentioned yet, should be interesting! lol...
it started good...then seem to be hard to keep up with.... some of it didnt make sense to me it could be me that i was not interested in reading this book....then again when it gotten good i could not put it down....go figure
Just when I thought it couldn't get any hotter! I love how independant and strong Nemesis is and the whole time Kane is trying to protect her. There is so much passion and conflict.
