This collection is truly absolutely amazing. Published 2007 and sadly every piece of Leunig brilliance presented here is still totally relevant today. Are we never going to learn as a society and grow and mature? Sad
An absolute must is read the "Glossary of Characters and Concepts in this book" at the beginning, it is cuttingly brilliant.

I adore Michael Leunig, i really love how cynic, sarcastic he is. He is not afraid of been political which is fashion now, and he complains with all the strength of his style and art. I love his obsession/metaphor which ducks and Mr. Curly. I like the fact that he can stop to be a cynic and speak about beauty, love, happiness and all the wonderful things in life, all of this without any pretension. He is natural and unaffected. For those who have never seen his work i´ll put here something of his

Do not Dumd me,
Do not dumb me,
Do not dumb me down;
Dumb me upwards,
upwards to
The bigger end of town.

Dumb me upwards,
Dumb me upwards,
Dumb me to the sky.
The greatest dumbness
in the wold
Is where the big men fly.

A wonderful set of cartoons by the late, lamented Michael Leunig. This book was first published in 2007, and I have to say, that the more things change (politically, anyway) the more things stay the same. Very enjoyable and a trip down memory lane.

I love cartoons - political and regular - and what they say about the society of the person who writes/draws them and the people who read them. I will readily admit that I didn't "get" all of these. I think you have to know more about some parts of Australia than I do. But some of them are right on the mark for me - "Why are we here?"

Amazing as usual. This is the most recent work of his I have read, a lot of it centered around the Iraq war and Australian values.
