Eh... this could have been better. I read this for free on my e-reader, this is not something I would ever buy for myself.
There was more good ideas and information here, but the book just did not have enough wit or knowledge to come off as an amusing or informative read for those who are pregnant. There wasn't much information at all about labor or delivery- which, I'm sorry, every mother to be should read about beforehand. As much as I read about c-section recovery prior to my son's birth, I wish I'd read even more.
What I really did not like about this book was that it, in parts, sounded like it was written by a shallow mean high school girl who never quite grew up. I'm not a "hot mom" because I could not be bothered and wore sweats today since I'm busy with my seven month old and not focused on my own looks? Oh, well. My husband still thinks I'm pretty hot, so I'm sure I'll get over your opinion.
Some good information but also quite dated (some of the websites are no longer in use… I should have known given the Blockbuster and K. Feederline references lol). Lots of testimonies from moms and moms-to-be, still worth a read if you’re a newbie like me!
I really like the organization of this book. I had information relating to each month that was also relevant to later parts of pregnancy. I probably should have read this one earlier. As it was, I skimmed pretty much the whole thing in a couple days. I think more information about labor and deliver would have improved this book.
This book had some decent information about the ins and outs of pregnancy. It wasn't really anything new if you ask me, just information on where to find clothes and gadgets. I think it is probably more beneficial to read the author's website from time to time to get the most up-to-date information on trends and deals.
This book had some good ideas and resource lists, but too much of the air of the quitessential stuck up high school cheerleader. If I don't qualify as a "hot mom" because I wore sweatpants today, then I don't really want to be your friend anyhow. I'm just going to go over here and sit with the band nerds in the cafeteria today.
Part pregnancy book and part buyer's guide, this book didn't pick up enough steam and wit to distance itself from a run-of-the-mill amusing blog. It was fun enough to read though and the writing didn't make me cringe most of the time.
This book was given to me (not something I would have bought for myself), sonI thought I would give it s read. I didn't find any of the references to be useful nor did I love the advice given. This may be a good reference for a different girl.
Great and fun read, very quick, and lots of websites to check out. Makes you feel a little more uplifted (for those of us that need it) as a mom to be!
