Peter Turnbull is the author of nineteen previous novels and numerous works of short fiction. He worked for many years as a social worker in Glasgow before returning to his native Yorkshire.
I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy Peter Turnbull's mysteries. The P Division are especially enjoyable. They are beautifully crafted police procedurals with a large ensemble cast of characters. No one character seems to come up on top.
Glasgow (Scotland) also plays a prominent part and not necessarily in a good way. They show the city in all its grit.
"Solid" is the word that comes to mind when I think of how to describe my experience reading this book. Just a really solid police procedural. Nothing about it blew me away but I had a good time reading it.
