Cells, Tissues and Organs very informative nonfiction book, written by Donna Latham. This book mostly talks about different kinds of cells, organisms, tissues and all their functions. It also talks about diseases in specific organ systems or cells. There is also information on how people discovered cells and tissues, for example, Robert Hooke who discovered plant cells. Cells, Tissues and Organs has many interesting facts, they are mostly on the skin, heart, brain and the muscles. This book helps the reader understand what your body is made out of and different parts of the body and what they do.
This book is nonfiction, has facts and this topic is important. This book is nonfiction because it has real information. There are five different facts in this book which are, the brain is nearly 85 percent water. Second is there are more than 600 muscles in the human body. Third is your skin contains 72,400 kilometers of nerves. The fourth is your heart beats about 30 million times in a year. Finally, the largest muscle in your body is the Gluteus Maximus, the Buttock. This topic is very important. It helps children or even adults learn about what you are made up of also the different functions of your body.
The most exciting part of the book is when they talk about the organ systems, like the nervous system. The most disappointing part of this book is when they talk about the disease because it is sad to think about people dying because of these malfunctions. I would recommend this book to middle school, fifth grade and anyone who is interested in science. Middle school because it's important for everyone to now how your body works. Fifth grade because it gets them ready for what they are going to learn in middle school. Also, for people who are interested in science because it is a nonfiction science book which teaches so many people. In the end, this a good book which is very informational, for everybody.
