Heroine lets people walk all over her. I wanted more to the plot.

Izzy writes articles for her father’s travel magazine. Her hobby is playing tournament poker. She flies to Las Vegas to write about hotels and poker. Nick is famous for winning the poker championship three times. Izzy has had a crush on him for a while. When she meets him she falls on the floor, splits her skirt and loses her temporary front tooth. She’s embarrassed. He’s curious. Their paths keep crossing. He asks her

Its been a long time since I've read a book that at times made me laugh so hard I cried. Shuffle Up and Deal really delivered in that respect. This is a great erotic romance that had a rocky beginning, but ended with a bang.

The beginning of this book was pretty painful to read. The heroine gets walked all over by her family and finds herself in some pretty embarassing situations. Because of this I *almost* put the book down. However, after throwing it against the wall, I picked it up an hour la

The start of the book was tough but once I got through the first couple chapters I had some good laughs.

Okay, so I know pretty much nothing about poker and don't think I know any actual poker players in real life and holy Moses I think I'm really glad about that. These guys are a trip and flipping mean to each other. It's pretty fun but lordy I'd be in tears with their teasing and the jokes they pull on each other.

Shuffle Up and Deal was an interesting book. There were some things I really enjoyed about it but there were also a couple things that made me a little twitchy along the way...

Isabella's life is ordinary to say the least. Well not really ordinary since she's the daughter of a magazine mogul but she's does work 9-5 like any other girl. It just so happens that she has the luxury of enjo

Thirty-four year old Isabella "Izzy" Santillo writes articles for her father's travel magazine, TravelStyle. Her passion for playing poker fuels her dreams of becoming a professional poker player. She also fantasizes about the reigning King of Hold 'em, Nick Nolan.

Izzy won an internet poker tournament and the prize was a buy-in for a Las Vegas poker tournament. Izzy heads to Sin City to play in the poker tournament and write an article for the travel magazine, while dreaming of becoming a poker

I thorogouhly enjoyed Shuffle Up and Deal. It was a quick witted, and hilarious adventure from start to finish. There was never a dull moment with Isabella and Nick. I loved the poker premise and I actually feel like I picked up a few game pointers while reading!

Isabella was such a joy to get to know. I loved her. She is a great poker player, a hard worker, and super sassy when she wants to be. But even though she can be no holds barred feisty, she is still genuinely a sweetheart. She is always

Fluttering Thoughts:

World Building: Contemporary Pittsburgh and Vegas.
Characters: Izzy was absolutely awesome, she was a charming independent-ish woman who had a magnificent sense of humor and the wit to make it shine. I was delighted to read about her, all spunky and playful as she kept with her brother. Her family life was, well...interesting, I totally got what she felt and I must say I agreed with a lot of it. She was super real and f
My favorite romantic comedy of the year.

My sides are still hurting, I laughed so much. You don't have to be a fan of poker to fall in love with Izzy and Nick. Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom speaks for itself, but it is their casual chemistry and the poker community at large that had me cheering at the end.

Izzy dreams of not only becoming a poker champion, but she dreams of THE poker champion, Nick Nolan. To the point of screaming Nick's name out while in bed with her on-again-off-aga

Izzy works at her dad's travel magazine as a writer and loves poker. She's had an on-again-off-again relationship with Andy for years that is going nowhere . She has a brother named Rocco who has a young daughter named Danni. Her widowed dad is married to Jennifer, who Izzy and Rocco think is just after his money. Jennifer is always trying to "improve" Izzy and Danni and she has no filters.

Nick is a champion poker player. Though he likes the ladies, he keeps himself distant from them and just en

This was like having two books in one. The first half of the book is told from Izzy's point of view. The second half from Nick's point of view. Then there is part three which has a little of both. I found it very interesting to read each character's point of view. It gave me an insight as to why they were the way they were and why they took some of the actions that they did.

I know next to nothing about poker so some of the gambling terms were meaningless to me, but it didn't ruin the story for m
