Genre: modern fantasy; grades: K-2. This is a fun book that follows the adventure of one little girl and her lost tooth. She wants the tooth fairy to bring her tooth back, but the fairy can't quite find it. The teeth she tries bringing back instead are so funny because they are nowhere near the size of a human tooth. This book is a lighthearted read that I think would be enjoyed by any young reader as they lose their first teeth and go through that experience. This book is so funny, and was one that I really enjoyed as a child.

Cute! If you are looking for a relatable story for K-3 you found it. The kiddos are excited, maybe scared, and fully aware that teeth are loose and falling out left and right. When this little girl starts asking for hers back, she finds the teeth of all sorts of animals. This could easily be used in a science lesson, for examples of letter writing, and of course reading practice. Any book that gives kids something relatable they will embrace it more easily.

Read for illustrator, but this isn't her most intense work; it's almost cartoony. Story is cute enough, but nothing special or memorable. I imagine children of the target audience would like it more.

This is a silly, but fun story about a young girl who loses her first tooth, gives it to the tooth fairy, and then asks for it back temporarily to show to her grandfather. In the course of several nights, the tooth fairy gives her many different teeth, none of which are her own, but belong to different animals.

The narrative is short, the illustrations are colorful, and the parade of animals who come to her house to retrieve their teeth is funny. It can be followed up with a book about the differences in animal teeth and why they are shaped the way they are.

Cute story.

Our Protagonist Emily has a troubled business relationship with the Tooth Fairy, here portrayed as a befuddled grandmotherly type. The story is told entirely in Emily's notes to the Tooth Fairy. It's a goofy story, but not very funny.

The artwork is much better than the text. The full-color illustrations appear to be done in watercolors. The artist gave Emily a black and white cat as a constant companion, although a cat is not mentioned in the text.

Cute story about a little girl who lost her first tooth and would like to show her grandfather after the tooth fairy has already taken it. Through letter writing, the girl explains how the tooth she keeps leaving is not the girl's tooth but instead for other animals both big and small.

Good for introducing letter writing for Kindergarten or first grade.

Nice Try, Tooth Fairy is a creative piece. I love the way the text is presented as chronological notes from Emma to the tooth fairy, something young students probably do not see often. Students could also use the story to work on sequencing or size. The story still lacks diverse characters and settings but would be a fun read for students.

Great story to read to Kindergarten class. This story is about a little child who loses a tooth and the tooth fairy has already come and took the tooth, but the child wants to show it to their grandpa. The tooth fairy tries to find the correct tooth, but has trouble. The tooth fairy does finally get it right!!

This book had very colorful and bright pictures. It was a delight to read because you had to incorporate both the text and pictures on each page into the story to make it fully make sense. It taught not only that it is normal for teeth to fall out, but about various animals as well. I thought it was a very cute book.

Grandfather is visiting and he wants to see the granddaughter's lost tooth. It gets really silly when the tooth fairy brings back all sorts of different teeth...hippopotomus, skunk, elephant, and alligator. Will she ever find the right one?

Probably my favorite of all the tooth fairy books we read. Little girl wants her tooth back to show her grandpa, but the silly ol' tooth fairy keeps bring back the wrong ones like a hippo's tooth and a crocodile's tooth. Don't worry - it all works out in the end. Phew!

This story is about a little girl name Emma writing letters to her tooth fairy. She was requesting to have her tooth back from the tooth fairy because her grandpa was visiting her. The tooth fairy didn't really send it back but at the end she found her tooth.

Letters lesson, this book would be great if teaching the importance of letters to a class. I would use this book for a first or second grade class. This book has a funny story line of the tooth fairy , and the characters book in the story will bring you a laugh.

This book has beautiful illustrations and is a great book for children who are loosing their teeth. I think that this book would have been better if it included the tooth fairies response. Overall, okay book.

Best tooth fairy book out there. Very charming and sweet, with a witty storyline and nice illustrations. This would be my go-to for a "tooth fairy introduction" for little ones starting to lose their teeth!
