مشکل اصلی ترجمه کتابهای علمی، مسئله زمان است؛ کتاب دراولین فرصت بعد از چاپ نسخه اصلی باید ترجمه بشه چون خیلی مطالب علمی بعد از مدتی تغییر میکنن
با احترام همیشگی به نشر مازیار که همچنان کتابهای علمی رو ترجمه و چاپ میکنه، این کتاب خوب سال 2003 (14 سال پیش) منتشر میشه و سال 1389 (2010) با هفت سال تاخیر به فارسی ترجمه میشه و خب در این حوزه ستاره شناسی اینقدر کشفیات زیادی صورت گرفته که عملا یه سری مطالب کهنه شده
مثلا صدها سیاره سنگی کشف شده که تو کتاب در حد آرزوی کشف آن در آینده است
کتاب با اینکه پر از نکات خواندنی است ولی مناسب خواننده عادی نیست و خیلی جاها تخصصی میشه
نظر شخصی ام اینه که کتابهای علمی رو باید همون وقتی که منتشر میشه خوند و نه حتی چند ماه بعد

It is a rarity to stumble upon a text of this sort perchance. Not only does the author logically and methodically cover a wide range of topics of interest to any exobiologist or prebiotician, but does so in a way that is sober and well founded. Not once is a leap of faith required of the reader for each argument has stolid footing. I highly recommend this text was an accessible yet thorough treatment of extraterrestrial biology and the origin of our own planet. Having said all this, I hope to see a third edition with the prerequisite updates due to new research as a partial, if not complete, rewrite of the last third of the book. This rewrite is necessary in order to elevate the relatively weak ending to the par set by the previous 2/3rds of the book.
