Trouble In Paradise. . .

Katie Long was supposed to be undercover. She was just supposed to watch Deputy Prosecutor Eric Kimura at his ex's wedding and gather intel on his campaign for prosecutor. But he's a lot hotter in person, and the kind of intel they accidentally shared in the hotel bathroom might lose both of them their jobs. Especially since it seems to be a recurr

I really, really liked this book. What a fun ride. Katie is a snarky, sassy heroine and I love that. Eric is a little more down to earth, for lack of a better phrase, but they feed off each other wonderfully.

What I loved about this book is that it had such a real feeling to it. Neither Katie nor Eric are perfect. In fact, they both make stupid decisions at times. But when one makes a stupid decision, the other calls them on it. Every time a conflict came up, they talked it out. I loved that! It'

4.5 Stars! I loved Eric's book and was so happy that he got his HEA. After Deana really worked his heart over in HOFAH for doing the right thing, he deserved his HEA. This was the best of the series and had some fun, snappy dialog. When Eric asked Katie if she looked something up she said in the Big Book of Stereotypes, I just had to laugh. The ending was my favorite kind of ending. I wish that we would have got to read about Cara (Katie's sister.) and Sean's romance. He is such a player, I woul ...more

I'm not going to bother writing what this is about. I'm sure most know from the description above. So I will just sum it up with what I thought and felt. Short and sweet.

This short book of 245 pages was utterly sweet. I zipped right through it in no time. I loved how Eric had his doubts about Katie's involvement in the scandal but he kept listening to what his heart was telling him. At least until the very end when there was just more and more dirt that made her look guilty. But the ending was
Grabbed me right away from the first page. Very sexy read, but not overly detailed as in erotica. First story I have read where the hero is Asian American (very sexy)and he was such a good boyfriend- even though she was a dirty little secret that could hurt his career. The way the book started it was a real page turner and I did read it in one sitting, but it lost a little momentum with the ending. I wanted more drama and heartbreak moments in the final conflict, but it was still good. Will defi ...more

Really good book. Katie and Eric just can't stay away from each other. I really liked both of them. Katie was a wild child that is finally getting her life on track. She didn't expect the immediate attraction to Eric. She also didn't expect to actually like him. She wants to end her job following him so she can just be with him on her own, but ends up staying on to keep someone else from doing it. She finally confesses to Eric what is happening which naturally creates some conflict between them. ...more

Excellent ! Just the book I needed when I needed it, isn't it wonderful ?
I was looking for a good (no, not good, excellent) romantic suspense to take my mind off problems and bad weather, with just the right amount of banter, of steam, of humor and with please (please !) adult characters that don't behave like they're in a schoolyard. I got it all right here ! And it made me pretty happy and smiling and all that while the rain was pouring and the wind was blowing.
Maybe, if I look real hard for s

Eric Kimura is still hung up on his ex and at her wedding to another man, he has sex with a stranger, a waitress, in a bathroom stall. At least it’s better than getting drunk and making a scene. But what he doesn’t know is that the waitress is not an ordinary waitress. Someone hired Katie through an old acquaintance to spy on Eric at the wedding. I was utterly surprised to find out who it was and outraged on Eric's behalf.

Katie Long is an impulsive young woman with a penchant for get

HelenKay Dimon gives new meaning to “smoking in the boys room" in her latest novel Impulsive and she wastes nooooo time getting right to the action…like page 1.

Katie Long had a simple job to do at the wedding of Deana Armstrong & Josh Windsor (Holding out for a Hero)…well besides helping her sister cater the wedding of the century. Keep her eye on the prize that is Eric Kimura, ex-hubby of the blushing bride and report back on his activities. Sounds like a simple enough task to make a little

This book starts out pretty hot. Katie and Eric are going at it hot and heavy. I just had to ignore that it was in a bathroom. Or pretend that it was a bathroom made out of solid gold, one that had no germs or bacteria in it. Eric is at his ex’s wedding to prove to himself and his future constituents that he is over Deanna Armstrong. Katie is at the wedding to help her sister--the caterer--and to make a few extra bucks on the side by spying on Eric. So when she does him in the bathroom (there is ...more

Katie Long meets Eric Kimura at a wedding that her sister is catering. The original plan was for Katie to keep an eye on Eric. You see, Eric is a rising star in legal circles and is planning to make a run for prosecutor. He attends his ex-girlfriend's wedding to show the world that he's totally fine with her wedding. The truth is though, he loved Deana, and he's crushed that she's marrying someone else. So when he sees a hot, young waitress looking at him at the wedding, one things leads to anot ...more

3.75 stars - The Hero in the latest HelenKay Dimon novel, Impulsive, made his first appearance in Holding Out For a Hero, which I loved. Eric, I thought, really got the shaft in HOFaH, so I was pleased to see him get a chance at his HEA. He is an up and coming prosecutor running for District Attorney, with an eye on the Governor's Mansion at some future point. As noted, he meets Katie at Deana (Eric's former fiancee) and Josh's wedding. By meet, I mean has sex with. Nameless, anonymous sex with ...more
It's not often I read a book where the sex scene between hero and heroine starts on page 1... and they only met a few minutes before. I thought this was probably a bad sign, that Impulsive was going to turn into one of those all-sex-no-plot stories - but it wasn't.

My only real niggle with the book is this initial sex scene. The rest of the story explores how hero Eric Kimura, a deputy prosecutor and all-round good egg, finds himself drawn to former wild child Katie Long, a woman with secrets who

Katie Long is trying to pull her life together and not just be the trouble maker her sister believes her to be. Eric Kimura is starting his campaign to become a prosecutor in Hawaii and the last thing he needs is trouble in his life. What neither of them expect is an explosive moment for the two of them at a wedding that leaves them both wanting more and a connection they can’t deny. But Katie hasn’t been exactly truthful with Eric; she was planted at the wedding to try and dig up some dirt on h ...more

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance set in the beautiful backdrop of Hawaii. The description of the culture, places, and people are so realistic that it took me back to a tropical paradise I was lucky enough to visit a few years ago. This story follows the life of Kate Long, a free spirited woman who is finding herself throughout the novel. She isn't too sure about her future and is precariously living each day while h

Impulsive is a rather mediocre read. The heroine made not a whit of sense to me. Her behavior was so all over the map, I wanted to recommend a nice therapist to her. The hero was too long-suffering for me and way too hung up on how the heroine looked and how hot she was in the sack. I never felt he truly cared for her... he saw her as a solution for his needs rather than a fully-formed person who could compliment him.

Additionally, I found the sup-plot bad guy really lame. I did like the hero's b

I wanted to read this due to a recommendation from a website. And, luckily I was able to receive a free copy (especially since neither of my libraries had a copy. Yet.)

It's a fun, light read. I don't know that it'd be one of my favorite books. But it was enjoyable. A little racier than what I usually read. But there was an interesting dynamic with the characters. (I haven't read any of the others in the series, so I'm hoping that those will contain more backstory on some of the other characters.

There are many, many things I really liked about this novel. The dialogue is wonderful, realistic-seeming without being the boring dialogue we actually have in real life, and I really like both the hero and the heroine. The book was funny, entertaining, and I thought the characters felt like real people with real problems.

I didn't love it because, like the heroine, I spent a good portion of the novel wondering "does the hero really like her and why?" It's not that she wasn't likable, it was just

Even though this book didn't have any mysterious elements, which is something that I prefer in my books, it was something that I couldn't put down. I literally opened the book and the next time I looked up I was half way through it.
HelenKay Dimon is an excellent story-teller. She created characters in this book that were easy to love and fun to read about.
I can already tell that this is not going to be the last book I read from her.

I won this book on a giveaway on here..and loved it!! This book is so cute that i read it in one day. Some books you read start off slow..this is not one of them! This is the first book by HelenKay Dimon, but i can't wait to read more. As far as i can tell you do not have to read this series in order.

This book was just what I needed, a fun, flirty, hot read. Eric is the buttoned up lawyer that is thrown for a loop when he meets Katie, who is a free spirit, and slowly reforming bad girl. Their odd courtship was full of fun, the political things not so much, a little boring. If you are in a reading rut this is the perfect book to get you out of it.

Goodness I only read 15 pages of this book and it was just sex in a bathroom stall. and then 5 pages after that, they have sex again. Most of the romance novels that I read had at least some sort of plot line or a conversation before anything frisky happens. I guess I just wasn't in the mood to read the sort.

This is quite possibly the first book I've ever read that opens with a quickie in a bathroom. Zoiks! A little romance. A little intrigue. and a whole lot of misunderstandings follow before the usual conclusion.

Wow!! What a start to a book. I really liked this book because it was a quick light read. I love that the book was set in Hawaii and it was a nice visual description of the location that had me wishing I was there. I will definitely read more books by this author.

I loved this book so much I stayed up way too late to finish it, reading it in only 2 days! Eric is sexy and smart. Katie is fragile and flawed but spunky. I loved how the two of them interacted and how they came to their HEA.

Ended up skimming most of this. Neither of the main characters were very interesting and I didn't buy the romance between a high-powered lawyer and a woman who seems to have no direction in her life.
