Very practical book, with loads of usable information on horse care and stable management. Cherry Hill’s books provide details that I never see anywhere else. The content is very American, which is fine (horses are the same everywhere), except it means that some of the sources aren’t readily available to me, and “winter” is not necessarily the same. I would have enjoyed this book more if the pictures were larger and in colour.

This book is very dated and does not pertain to all regions of the country. If you haven't been keeping horses very long, you need to read it anyway. It would be most excellent if Cherry Hill updated this book to include more environmentally sensitive practices.

Very detailed analysis of stables, different flooring for your barn, and general upkeep of a stable area. Cherry Hill knows what she is talking about, she is highly recommended.
