Unclutter Your Mind - 500 Ways to Focus on What's Important
A calm, uncluttered mind is the best defense against the stresses of contemporary life. Donna Smallin, who has already helped thousands of people organize their homes, now takes on the emotional and psychological clutter that can get in the way of living a balanced, rewarding life. A focused mind may be a tall order, but Smallin, with her special gift for seeing the quick solutions to all kinds of clutter, offers 500 quick tips and creative ideas to help busy people clear away unnecessary worries, daily stresses, and unproductive habits. In just a few minutes each day, anyone can reduce anxiety and find time for a simpler, more rewarding life. Organized into two broad sections, Clear Out and Keep It Clear, Smallin’s helpful tips inspire readers first to clear the daily mental clutter, then to keep the stress at bay and cultivate authentic joy. The quick solutions address such common problems as setting goals, regaining control, nurturing relationships, accepting mistakes, reducing debt, and organizing physical clutter. And, most importantly, every suggestion can be part of the busiest day. These days, when everybody is struggling to keep up with growing to-do lists, The One-Minute Organizer to Unclutter Your Mind offers real help for busy people seeking a brief respite from all the noise.

Each page of this book had multiple pieces of advice that seem simple and easy to follow. Also brought up a lot of questions to ask yourself about what's really important in your life. This would be a good book to own and flip through every so often.

Since I've enjoyed the author's other books on organizing, I purchased this book. In contrast to the useful tips in other books, this book is full of general and shallow motivational tips that one could find online or on Pinterest. Only a few were actionable and specific -- the majority were so abstract as to be as useful as a fortune cookie fortune. A real disappointment and not worth your time.

Whenever I come across a situation where I feel myself being stuck in something that I can't figure; I always find some relevant books that can help me to deal with those matters. This was the matter that faced two weeks ago when I observed that there were literally too many things that were crowding in my mind and making it difficult to put my attention into something I needed. I guess it usually happens with all of us; it's just like having multiple tabs open in mind and then keep moving back and forth in those tabs.
.
And as usual, I found books that could help me, where '10-Minute Focus' and 'Unclutter Your Mind' were the ones I picked in the hope to find solutions and it worked! But what is the mental clutter exactly? That isn't a complex thing— Mental clutter is something when we have lots of things on our mind (things that we plan to do, want to do, suppose to do) but because of some reason we fail to work on them and they keep getting stored in our mind until we start freaking out, wondering about reasons that make feel terrible for no reason, but we never get to the answer. The funny part is that all that mental clutter is the only reason that makes us feel restless.
.
'Unclutter Your Mind' is not just a book focusing on ways that you can unclutter your mind but it's more than that. It's an ultimate self-care guide that doesn't go very theoretically but is designed in a way so its readers can make it as usual as they can. You can open any chapter or any page and you will still don't miss out anything but find tips that can be helpful.
.
With this book, I managed to deal with that clutter and I am thankful to Donna Smallin for helping me out with it. It's a small and quick read, so in case if you think you might be struggling with that mental clutter then must read this book.

This is a book of advice about life. I liked it. This book contained more than a few pieces of advice that applied to my life. I may read this again in the future.

An enjoyable book to give you ideas on decluttering your mind and more ways to simplify your life and really live it instead of letting life just happen to you. It has something for everyone.

Major disappointment. There is little in here not said a billion times over and some of the helpers are outright insulting.

Klein, dik boekje met een erg groot lettertype. Ideaal als je mentaal moe bent en toch iets wilt opnemen. Erg veel tips, zeer bruikbaar.

Quick, easy read.

Way too simplistic.
No depth, no real guidance.
Might be ok for primary school kids.

The tips on how to focus on the important things was really good. You'll find yourself asking, 'If I had extra time today, what would I like to do?' or 'What am I choosing to do with my time right now?' or telling yourself to 'Be here in the present, focus on the really important things like your kids.' The tips were short enough that you could read just a little bit here and there, and put them into practice right away. If you feel overwhelmed or are drowning in the day to day things in life, I recommend this book to you.

Lot of things we all already know, but also a lot of good ideas, some of which I am working on now.

Little, basic reminders on how to navigate a mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy balance in life. Some of it's a bit new agey, some of it's grounded and smart. I like books like this because you can take or leave what works for you, or find little 5-minute ways to remind yourself of what matters to you in life. It's not like ritualistic self-brainwashing, i.e. what I assume books like The Secret are about.

I bought this book because the title spoke to me--I need to unclutter my mind, but unfortunately, the content didn't quite deliver. I liked the design and organization of this book. It's cute and the chapters are well laid out. However, I've heard a lot of the tips before and I think it would have been more helpful to have fewer tips with more explanation and examples.

It was a cute book with great tips to find inner peace. However, there were one or two suggestions that I didn't agree with.

A nice little collection of useful and common sense tips. I found several tips I jotted down in my journal to help me relax and figure out where my mind is "cluttered."

Very basic pointers given. I found some reminders that I need to focus on, but I am rather happy with the many good habits I already have.
