It’s Meru’s birthday and she’s given an unexpected gift that will reveal her true ability to see what they truly are; hence lifting the veil. She is favoured by a goddess and is gifted the power of future sight and there is a mystery that only she can solve and answer.
Damon the sexy as sin, handsome alpha, and immortal shifter is a guardian of the North Portal to protect the high priestess, keeping dark shifters and others from gaining access to the human world. When he meets Meru, his wolf instincts take over, recognizing her as his mate. The connection between these two is definitely fierce and at times slow and loving. It’s well written, although at times I found the lovemaking over-ruled the story.
That being said I found this quite enjoyable, with the author giving great personalities to the secondary characters. 3 big stars!

Great story. I loved learning about the Lycoan myth. I never knew the origins of the word "lycan". It was also interesting to think of the Greek gods as aliens. There was discussion of the struggle between Enlil and Enki, from Sumerian mythology. Merlin and Nimue and Danu from Irish/Celtic mythology. There were fae, shapeshifters, lycans... it was chock full of paranormal goodness. And a nice love story/mate-finding thrown in. It's R.G. Alexander, so there was sex of course, but it was pretty tame compared to some of her books. And it was actually sweet. There were periods of humor as well. Loved Sheridan, but then I like snark.
I really hope Ms. Alexander continues this story. The next portion of the prophecy was revealed at the end, and it was very intriguing.

I got to say I was really surprised at how well I enjoyed this book. It was a kindle loan from a good friend who recomended it and I'm glad she did. I really struggled to get past chapter one and then all of a sudden it just open up. This author take a new spin on the druids and celtic history. Splashes it up with the greek gods and sumarian gods and a being known as the Archon. It has Merlin and Nimue and a delicious Lycan a cursed Viking. A the Tuatha Danu. It's like every fable and lore rolled into one. I look forward to book two.

I really enjoyed "Lifting the Veil" the first book in the "Temptation Unveiled" series. A lot of world building went on in this book, but it really didn't take away from the overall story, it only added to it. I didn't feel like the story was rushed at all, but I truly would have liked it to have been longer. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, one of the worst books I have ever read. I don't mind sex in a book, but this was overload. The book was about sex, sex, and more sex. Usually when I start a series, I finish the series. Not this one! My first and last I will read of this series.
