The best part about this is that they stress at the start that the most important aspect of a green home is that it is smart building - sustainability means long term, energy efficiency, universal design, size (smaller is better), and of course - the site and orientation.

Then the bulk of the book however is about materials (sustainable choices) and appliances. Really just an overview of the choices, but that's good enough to give you an idea.
