Adam Woog, a native Seattleite and lifelong visitor to the locks, has written dozens of books for children, young adults, and adults. He has a special interest in biography and history, and several of his books focus on Pacific Northwest topics.
This book was about my favorite basketball player Derrick Rose and his life story. He grew up in the bad part of Chicago, in Englewood, where there was gang violence and shootings. He made it threw with help of his mom and three brothers. The way he stood of the streets and made it in life, he started playing basketball and he was really good at it and he was a phenom in high school. He was so good he got a scholarship to go to the University of Memphis to play for coach Calipari. They didnt when a college championship but Derrick did not fail to impress his coach. He only played a year in college and was accepted to go to the NBA draft. he was the first overall pick in the first round. Number pick to go to the Chicago bulls. he became NBA Rookie of the Year. and he wants to win a Championship and is still trying. I would recommend this book to anybody who loves basketball and loves learning about players and there history.
