I wrote THERE IN THE MOON MIST, and this story touched me in so many ways as I was working on it. It is the story of 20-year-old Lacy Grayson, a young woman struggling to free herself from a cult she is forced into. I had to spend a lot of hours studying cult indoctrination and the psychological horrors these people face daily. And although this is fiction, it sheds light on human suffering and the things some are willing to do for acceptance and love. I hope you enjoy my story.

Within a few pages, this book gripped me and there was no going back. Any time I had to put it down, I missed it and now that it’s over, I still miss it. Major book hangover. Ward is a brilliant writer, has a knack for putting you right into the scene.

It’s third person POV with alternating POVs; mostly the protagonist’s but at times briefly, others just to paint a very clear picture and round things out.

Character development is advanced and some that are relatable and others you’ll likely love to hate. Reads as a standalone, and wraps up neatly in the end. Book manages to be haunting in a completely thrilling way; I’ll never get enough of Ward’s writing, I think.

No typos or continuity errors were noted, book is professionally presented.

5 stars, would give this more if I could. Will likely re-read from time to time.

I typically go for character-driven novels, and There in the Moon Mist did not disappoint. The protagonist, Lacy Grayson, pulled my heartstrings from the start. A number of times I found myself urging her to flee her circumstances as though she were my kid sister. Lucas, the boy to whom she was betrothed, is a character I tried hard to dislike. However, in spite of his flaws, I had sympathy for him. The story's setting made me buy this book, but the various backgrounds and personalities of characters who nonetheless became members of a religious cult made me all the more eager to read it.
