As a fan of pulp characters, I had become aware of Bill Craig's Hardluck Hannigan series from various sources on the internet and wanted to try them out. I decided to start at the beginning and read Hannigan's first adventure, "Emerald Death"... after reading it, I can safely say I'm in the mood for more.

Mike Hannigan, on the run from New York mobsters, flees the US and hops a tramp steamer to Africa and, he hopes, adventure; it finds him and
