My nephew liked this book quite well. There were lots of superheroes that he is familiar with, and several that were new to him, which was nice. I *could* quibble about the fact that all of the male superheroes were shown in action, while Invisible Woman was shown playing a prank on her male counterparts rather than defending the city from evil doers. I will acknowledge, though, that the realm of superheroes is largely dominated by boys, and they aren't really all that jazzed about female superheroes anyway. Gender issues aside, this was a good little introductory superhero book for young kids (boys in particular).

This one was good for me because it covers the basics of many super heroes. Now I have somewhat of a chance to know what my son and husband are talking about.

My son is obsessed with superheros. I got him this one, but it's just an intro to all the characters of the cartoon. It's fine, but nothing special.

A nice introduction to the SuperHero Squad. Not that interesting to an adult, but an emerging reader who likes Super Heroes will enjoy it. There is no story or plot line to this book so it would be a bad book for a young one to use for a book report. All it does is introduce the characters.

My nephew's FAVORITE. Seriously. He gets this book out at least once a day and has someone read it to him. I recommend for all small boys who love superheroes.

February 13, 2018T likes superheroes, especially Spiderman and Captain America, so this cover caught his eye.
V and T's Review:
A variety of Marvel heroes are introduced in this Level 2 Passport to Reading book.
T was happy to see some of his favorite heroes and we both learned a few new ones. I was disappointed to see a gross gender disparity though — only one female hero among seventeen males.
After reading:
V: Which superhero was your favorite?
T: Thing
V: You liked him more than Spiderman and Captain America?...Why?
T: I liked Thing more than Captain America because he has those rocks that are all glued together.
V: Should kids who like superheroes read this book?
T: No. They should read Frozen [Big Snowman, Little Snowman].
V: Really? Why?
T: Because they [Anna, Elsa, and Olaf] are good guys. They do good things. They are superheroes.
