Page turner. Super fun read... well as fun as a post 9/11 terrorist plot book can be. Well written and followed the Red School kids growing up. Happy I had uninterrupted reading time on an airplane to finish this. It would have been hard to put down not knowing how everything worked out.

Action! Action! Action! Plot! Plot! Plot! An excellent walk around bumping your knees on your coffee table, spilling coffee on yourself, can't-put-it-down thriller. That aside, the Red School gang is growing up, and they certainly haven't lost any of their heart, innocence, or charm from the first novel. I very much appreciate the way that Holt tells the story of the post 9/11 world as it was, without pulling punches or glorifying the actions of our own citizens. This book is obviously a sequel, and should be read after it's companion novel, Red School. Holt's off to the races with the plot, and he's not going to waste your time on backstory with this one. Think Suzanne Collins meets Steig Larson. Join the fun before the third one drops this summer!

This one is top notch entertainment. I found myself turning pages with vigor and continuing from chapter to chapter without hesitation. The Red School students set out on their own missions post 9/11, only to end up all involved in attempting to stop the same terrorist plot in Manhattan.

This kind of thing isn't the type of book I normally read, but it was an easy read and I was able to get caught up in the suspense effortlessly. It never has a slow or dull moment.

A true page turner, I literally could not put "Little Island" down! I haven't read a book with so much excitement and suspense since the Twilight series. "Little Island" is a well-thought out follow up to "Red School," further strengthening the series as a solid choice for any bookclub. Can't wait for "Children of Moloch!"

Great sequel to Red School - new plot, matured characters, more development of adjunct characters. Didn't have the plot twist the first one had, but I still liked it.

Bottom line: Fast-paced, easy read recommended for any lover of spy thrillers.

Not as exciting as the first book... but it is still full of action, plot thickenings, and intrigue. The story takes place in New York, with the same gang, only four years older in their college years.

What am sequel! It's a well-rounded book that can be loved as a stand-alone or as an addition to its precursor... This is one of those. As we watch the characters develop and the story change, it's easy to fall in love with this story. I cannot wait for number 3!!!

2nd in series. Interesting premise, children are gathered from all over to attend a special school in the middle of Kansas where they learn to be perfect assassins.
