Pol Medina Jr. was able to turn his strip Pugad Baboy into a national phenomenon because of his uncanny knack to touch on the current zeitgeist of his readers. He was able to parlay this success into books, shirts, and other merchandise. There was even a short-lived live action television series at one time. It all started with this compilation.
