Being a professional success sometimes means putting a social life on the back burner, especially when you’re as driven as attorneys Derek Rossi and Sam Kimball. The case that brings them together might have been cut and dry if each hadn’t taken it as a personal challenge to best the other. With the case out of the way, however, Sam wants more. A lot more. The course of their relationship won’t be easy. Nothing worthwhile ever is. But they’re driven men, used to wrangling with the worst, and if they have to fight along the way, making up will always be worth it.

Previously available only in electronic format, these best-selling stories of gay erotic romance have now been combined for a paperback edition! Included are the tales...

Wranglers: Discovery
Derek Rossi is used to being one of the best young lawyers in San Francisco...until he loses a case to his legal rival, the sexy and irrepressible Sam Kimball. The passionate, two-month-long court battle has left Derek frustrated, angry, and ready to take it out on Sam. But when Sam surprises him with a kiss, Derek has absolutely no idea what to do. All he knows is his preoccupation with the other lawyer now includes more than wrangling in the courtroom with him. The only problem is, Sam honors Derek’s request to leave him alone. Derek thought that was what he wanted. But now, with memories of the kiss consuming him, Derek doesn’t know what he wants at all anymore...

Wranglers: Voir Dire
Sam finally gets what he’s wanted ever since meeting Derek across a conference room table—his legal rival in his bed. The sex is fantastic, but Derek makes it clear from the start this is a no-strings arrangement. That’s why Sam doesn’t bother letting Derek know about the weekend he needs to spend in Napa as best man in his friends’ commitment ceremony. But when Derek finds out, and inexplicably agrees to go along as his date, Sam is both excited and terrified. This will be the first time either of them has met the other’s friends. He has no idea how Derek is going to handle it, or worse, if he really wants to handle it at all...

Wranglers: The Defense Rests
They started out on opposite sides of the conference table. Now, lovers Sam and Derek find themselves assigned to the same case, for the first time since they started sleeping together. There’s only one problem...Derek doesn’t want to take the case. Derek’s frustration has both men lashing out at each other. Somehow, they have to find a way to resolve their differences before the situation destroys what they have...

Wranglers: Judgment
Co-counseling a case does more than give Derek and Sam another win in their column. It brings them closer together as a couple, on the verge of something more. Until a surprise visit from Sam’s parents—who don’t even know he’s gay—changes everything. Now, Derek needs to prove the last six months haven’t been a fluke. And pray his relationship with Sam is strong enough to survive this personal trial...

11/11/11: Okay, the minute I finished this book, I turned to the first page and started over. I do that sometimes. I'm in love with Sam and Derek's relationship and wanted to go back and discover every nuance to their love affair leading to their HEA. Love this book!

10/29/11: Sam Kimball is adorable! Intelligent and witty, charming and sexy. The perfect match for the more reserved Mr. Rossi, though it takes Derek longer to realize it than either Sam or I do.
Where most stories fall into misunderstandings and seperation, Vivien Dean has these men go back and talk it out, stay together and face their problems rather than run out. Absolutey love that!
This is a beautiful story of love and friendship and fighting for what's important; hot love scenes and touching moments of intimacy. I recommend this book to anyone who's ever fallen in love.

A good, solid, character-led romance told over 4 short novellas. The switch in POV for #2 and #3 shook things up a bit and made the narrative more interesting. Probably won't re-read though because there wasn't enough conflict or UST for my liking. I recommend though if you want to read about the evolution of a relationship.
