The Storyteller's Companion to the Bible Volume 1 Genesis

Rate this book
This volume is for anyone who would like to imaginatively and memorably retell Bible stories from Genesis. Whether you are a preacher, a Sunday school teacher, or a parent, you will discover in this book everything you need to dynamically retell many of the foundational stories of the Jewish and Christian faiths. The authors stress that retellings are not intended to be memorized, but rather to spark your imagination. Additionally, Jewish midrashim offer unique, rabbinic interpretations of the stories in Genesis.

I have most of this series of books on understanding the Bible. I find that they really speak to me because they’re in the form of a story and a lesson on how to tell this story by practicing.

I will make it my habit to read a few pages every day.

The volumes that I own are:

Vol 01 = Genesis
Vol 02 = Exodus - Joshua
Vol 03 = Judges - Kings
Vol 04 = Old Testament Women
Vol 05 = Old Testament Wisdom
Vol 06 = The Prophets I
Vol 07 = The Prophets II
.
.
Vol 10 = John
Vol 11 = The Parables of Jesus
Vol 12 = The Acts of the Apostles
Vol 13 = New Testament Women
