"The Asian American Literary Review" is a new literary journal. i had recently contacted the editors for a feature in Daily s-Press, for the "first issue series", here the link: http://dailyspress.blogspot.com/2010/...
now i received a reading copy. and keep being amazed by it. what especially stood out for me is the introduction, titled: "forum", with a length of 20 pages - 3 editors/authors (David Mura, Ru Freeman, Alexander Chee) correspond in 2 rounds about the question: "What struggles does the Asian American journal face today - and what struggles does the Asian American literature in general face?"
which, of course, leads to the question of author identity in general, so interesting.
this "forum" is followed by a section of poetry, an interview, a section of stories. 3 book reviews set the ending point, with each author speaking in an own, particular voice.
