The Great Family Songbook for Piano and Guitar (Paperback)
by Dan Fox
i BOUGHT THIS TO CONNECT A BROTHER AND SISTER cousins that are part of a new immigrant family. The older brother raised here, his younger cousin just moved to the country. I am so excited by this book i need to order it for myself. The songs are all those that are used in schools to teach children. The book is remarkably easy to use, and the songs are great introduction to American culture.

Might like this for my music library as it has a lot of classics that aren't easy piano

This book is filled with easy piano arrangments that any advanced beginner piano can pluck out. If like me you have yet to master the art of the "fake-book" this is a great book to have for sing-a-longs with family and friends. It contained dozens of familar tunes ranging from patriotic to show tunes to some more popular folk tunes. Dan Fox contributed to the Reader's Digest Songbooks which I thoroughly enjoy (but are a bit more advanced) I like that with this book I have some easier arrangements to play when I don't have time to practice ahead. I have this on library loan but am considering ordering it spiral bound for me to have in our home library.

My Ratings:

5*****I loved this book, consider it an all time favorite
4**** Thoroughly enjoyed the book and will recommend it
3*** I liked it well enough,
2** Brain Candy - It was okay. Writing mediocre, will
keep/re-read if part of a series
1* didn't like/possibly not finished. (less)

Every family with a piano or guitar should have this book prominently displayed. It’s the songbook I’ve wanted for years but didn’t know existed. The songs include chord notations for piano or guitar, as well as lyrics, so it can be used in multiple ways and for multiple skill levels (most songs, if played the traditional way, are for intermediate level piano).

The index of songs is truly impressive.
