Interesting read, goes into the assorted women scientists up to the 1898. Discusses how family members helped and hindered and how difficult the universities could be along with the women themselves. Somewhat depressing to know how little recognition so many of these women got.

For the most part I enjoyed this book. I simply want to point out that while we are told intricately of some intriguing women, we often wind up dragging our way through rote lists to reach the next truly fascinating individual.

A good semi-narrative history of women in the sciences. Some of the stories are really exceptional and inspiring

This is a fantastic overview of women in science starting pre-history to modern day. I relied heavily on this for a paper and kept coming back to read more.

Good beginning and ending.
The middle felt like a list of women's achievements rather than getting the reader engaged with their lives.
