I read this book because I do believe in spirits, angels, saints...God. I know I am not alone. I know I can do better. I care about being a good mother, a good grandmother, good relative and friend. This book allowed me to take inventory of what I do well and what I need to improve on.
No surprises...but what is very interesting to me is the exercises for meditation. This is hard for me but the most rewarding. Quieting my mind is no easy task. This book guides you to take a serious look at the pl

I don't even know why I bought this. Basically, I saw this woman on Dr. Phil and thought she was kinda amusing. The book was awkward and seemed to consist of three distinct narratives smooshed together.

The first narrative was her story. This was actually entertaining and if the book had only had this narrative, I might have given it three stars. She talks about her life, and about how she first started connecting with spirits through the ghost of her grandmother. The family stories were rich and

The author is a medium and is able to communicate with spirits who have passed on. In working with her clients, she often helps them find peace by sharing messages that the departed want the living to know. Often, that message is that they are still with the living in spirit.
She also helps the reader increase their intuitive sense so that they can also receive guidance from the spirit world. She advocates meditation and gives instruction for different types of meditation. Very interesting book!

I believe that you have to be ready for this book for it to help. I was searching for a book to improve my intuition when I found "Spirited". It turned out to be more than I asked for. (I mean that in a good way). Even though this is an easy read, it's the type of book that you take your time reading. I savored it over a couple of months. When I first started reading it, I had borrowed a copy from the library to read on my Kindle. I realized though, that I would need to own a hard copy to comple ...more

So good. She explained certain questions to spiritual questions I didn't even know I had - and I read a lot of spiritual material. For example, no one else has ever explained that usually we don't receive any wisdom or guidance while were meditating; rather, we meditate to receive this guidance later. It's like that quote, "do something your future self will thank you for." I read it in the time surrounding my grandpas death, and it served as reassuring validation that death is not the end. Than ...more

Fascinating book about how to connect with the spirit world written by a local psychic. Though her story in itself is fascinating, Rosen's goal is to help readers hone their psychic powers: she includes meditation exercises (a primary way of connecting with spirit energy) as well as other techniques. ...more

Rebecca Rosen is the real deal. Her gift has helped me move on after the loss of my father. I am grateful for her knowledge and encouragement. For a first book, I was absolutely blown away- definitely a must read.

During the days that I was alone, all I see myself doing was holding tightly to the pillow instead of my man. waking up without a good morning text message from my beloved. all of this happened to me the moment Gilbert left me. The old saying is true, "you only know you love him when he leaves." We said goodbye after a painful upheaval. Everything changed but I'm still in love And that's how I knew that he was my soul mate. Bringing him back was very difficult. This strange lady seems to have cl ...more

I'm a little unsure about giving it a full three stars. Maybe 2.5 will be better. I liked her story. Didn't care much about the testimonial that keep coming up every few pages it seems (what is the need for so many anyway? I already bought the book. Didn't I?) The part that I was most interested in, connecting with the guides, and what the title is - is the only part where the book doesn't deliver fully. Maybe it needs better explanation or maybe it is not for everyone, but instead of being told ...more

Spirited is very interesting and not as woo woo as one may assume. In fact, it's primary focus is practical measures for being more mindful, present, and self-aware. Basically, Rebecca Rosen warns us to deal with our "stuff" now because not even death will give you a reprieve from your issues. This is great advice whether you believe in an after life or not. Unaddressed negative thoughts and feelings will always come back to "haunt" you and Rebecca has a very personable and relatable manner of e ...more

This book may have had some good information, but I could not get past the way it was written, throughout the book the author has a dialogue with an anonymous reader- "wait, I don't get it", or I hear you", etc. For some reason this annoyed the crap out of me and had me throwing the book down after only a couple pages. I found the only way I could get through it was to skim. Oh well. ...more

A quick read, but it was just "okay." I'm still skeptical as to whether or not she's the "real-deal." It would have been more compelling with a different format. Including testimonials about her specific practice at the end of every chapter hindered the book's believability. It read more like a plug for her business. ...more

Great read, very interesting. Always thought one was born with these special talents, not everyone could have these connections. I still need to put this to work. I am not reading Seven Cups of Consciousness by Aleya Dao and then will start experimenting.

Recommends it for: People interested in new age stuff
I appreciated the author’s strategic, practical approach to incorporating psychic ability into her daily routine. As with any muscle we want to strengthen in our lives, psychic ability is something that needs to be exercised daily.

The author had many crisis issues to deal with, and it seemed that when she wasn’t able to figure out how to heal, she turned toward tuning inward. She received guidance from sources that offered her comfort, yet were not the type of sources readily available without

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. In the beginning, it seemed like it would be just another run-of-the-mill book written by a psychic medium, where they all give only VERY basic information regarding spirituality, spirit communication, and the afterlife. This is great info for someone new to the topic, but when you have read many books of this nature, it becomes boring and repetitive.

Still, I had heard this author speak on a radio show and I really connected with her style. I am glad I st

This woman is a candid, likeable "medium" who is in pretty much contstant touch with those who have "passed over". The most striking thing about the book is the contrast to the other book i am currently reading, "Someone will be With You Shortly." Boy, these 2 women could not be any more different. Rosen tries very hard to be zen, and she really does have to work at it, but ultimately she leads a contemplative and balanced life with a very loving husband. It's funny when I then pick up "Someone ...more

At first I thought this was just another book written by a medium that basically says, "Wow, I can talk to spirits and you can too!" I kept reading because I found it interesting that Rebecca Rosen has a background in advertising. When I got to the point in the book where she offered up mental exercises to try, I was actually fairly impressed with how she targeted specific life challenges. I would suggest this book to people with an interest in life coaching, and for those who have an interest i ...more

Friendly, straightforward writing about what should be a common topic. The first half of the book should be summarized to a short chapter, though. The author is not a qualified therapist. The appendices should be enlarged and added to the second half of the book. The value of this book is in the exercises that bring you in contact with spirits.

I don't understand why publishers think all self-help books should be made appropriate to everyone. Some books are for those who are not beginners. This
