A brilliantly comprehensive book for beginners. Starts with an introduction to fabric, threads and equipment and then moves onto a wide range of projects, such as pincushions, samplers and 3D projects. The designs are sometimes a bit old fashioned but they are the perfect way to practice new stitches. She even introduces you to designing your own samplers.
The best part of the book is the enormous amount of stitches illiustrated at the end, over 100. Each stitch is depicted with a full colour photograph, a colour diagram and a clear textual description. It is an inspiring book at times that shows just what can be achieved - like painting with thread. If you are interested in trying embroidery this book is the perfect place to start.
