I have never paid attention to diabetes until my significant other was diagnosed that he was pre-diabetic. I did not want to use Dr. Google as the initial way of understanding the intricacies of diabetes. As I read this book, it made me realize how horrifying it is to have Type 1 and 2 diabetes. I learnt that four major organs which are the eyes, kidney, nervous system, and feet can have damages that may or may not be reversible. Thankfully, having type 2 diabetes can be reversible, but not having it in the first place is the safest and best option.

I also never knew about the Mediterranean diet which is considered the healthiest form of diet in the world until I read this book. I enjoyed seeing this kind of diet and what it is consisted of in the form of a pyramid graph.

Most of the “for dummies books” I have checked out of the library and didn’t finish. I just skim through them and find out the information that I find relevant or interesting. This one is very useful for people who have diabetes and has good information in easy to understand format.
