Every time I choose a book in order to free up space on the SD card, it turns out that it is not suitable for anything else.
Another lame comics.

Took me a long time, but I finally finished this thing. Classic 2000AD sci-fi/war comics by Peter Milligan and Brett Ewins, with lots of weird stuff and psychology going on. It's better in the early strips, with a few too many trips back to the well, but it's still good reading if you're into that sort of thing. Luckily, I am. ...more

In the far future, mankind is embroiled in a bitter, intractable war with an alien race known as the Krool. The war is being fought on the planet Ararat, a key world for either side thanks to it's strategic function as a staging ground either to Earth or the Krool homeworld. The story of "Bad Company" is told through the diary entries of Danny Franks, a literary-minded young man from Earth who joined the fight a

Weird, trippy mash up of old war comics, serious message about the horrors of war, sci-fi adventure and manly adventure story.

A young rookie soldier in a future war, is saved and taken in, by Bad Company, a mix of failed science experiments, battle scarred badasses and outright crazies.

The rookie is our POV character, as he experiences 'war is hell' and how far is he willing to go to survive.

Milligan seems to be trying to tell a big story, but it was originally told in a British comic anthology,

Penned by Peter Mulligan, this is a true brit military sci-fi tour de force. The first story was a delightful mix of grittiness and the straight-faced satire of 2000AD. A great story about a band of misfits fighting a war behind enemy lines. Of cruel aliens known as the Krool.

The other "serials" continue the mythos of Kano and his Bad Company, creating an intriguing mythos and an expanded universe, but slightly fail to get the grittiness of the original serial.

A good read indeed
