This book had some good information about the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and it also contained a lot of other history about things relating to the wonder. For example, the chapter about the Statue of Zeus also talks about Greek culture, the first Olympics and other shrines and statues such as Buddha which were built for the same reasons as the Statue of Zeus. In some sections they tied in modern architecture with the ancient, including The Statue of Liberty and the Sydney Opera House.

I reviewed this book specifically for the seven wonders of the ancient world. This book had way too many other structures to make it worthwhile for that purpose. The illustrations were good but the text was dry.

I will keep searching for another book. I won't use this for any of the other "wonders" shown here either.

this book was great because it is very informative. it had a lot of different information about the wonders of the world and it was entertaining enough for a child to read.
